Personally I’m very bored, as I imagine a lot of you are too with no sport and everything going on, so I thought let’s share our stupidest/most out there/downright wrong footballing calls, could be anything from FPL related to a real life transfer, just any opinion that you look back at now and can admit it was hilariously bad.
For me, I thought Chelsea were doing a genius bit of business getting Drinkwater to partner Kante, it worked for Leicester, it’ll work for us right? Sure he’s not world class but I genuinely thought he’d be a really valuable player for us, turns out, not so much... 😂
Hope everyone’s in good health!

I think you can be forgiven for this one aha, while spectacularly wrong, it looked like a great move at the time for you guys. Still amazing to think how downhill he went.
I'm convinced some Chilean film maker 20 years from now is going to make a film about the move along the lines of "The Damned United" (re: Clough at Leeds)
I was one of those little biased ❤️❤️❤️❤️ who wouldn’t hear a bad word about Liverpool
I had a similar thing to the trippier free kick against Croatia 🥺
I believed Balotelli would be good
Completely different sport but once in Finnish Baseball, one of our former players came to the plate and I had this really strong feeling that he is going to hit a home run, shame that I didn't tell it to anyone because he went and done it, a home run against his former team.
Got laughed by numerous people only for Origi to score and everyone started to believe
Worst is probably me not seeing what all the fuss was about with Newcastle fans rating Wijnaldum. Think I expressed similar about the signing of Ederson also.
The Ederson call I understand, I wasn’t aboard the hype train for him or Allison if I’m honest, although probably more through not really knowing much about them, still they’ve surpassed any expectations I had, and then some.
stinker
Ouch. That has to be up there 😂
Must be on the old forum, going back to 09 or 10 with that sort of opinion as Gabby hasn't been anywhere near the level to even think something like that since then.
I thought Hodgson would do great at Liverpool.
I thought Kane was going to be a one season wonder.
I Was critical about us signing Mané.
I thought Can and Origi would develop into great players under Klopp.
Yh it was a long long time ago. I've been on here for a long time in different forms.
You weren't alone in thinking Kane would be a one season wonder. Plenty others on here did as well.
I was banging the drum for united to sign him from the moment he had his spurs breakthrough.
I thought they would do well, had Ranieri and plenty of players I liked. Maybe not top 8 but definitely better than they did.
That villa team of the late 2000's was decent. Gabby, Young, Milner etc.
Ibrahimovic then joined Milan the next season for 20 million.
Good idea, I’ve got a couple haha.
