Which player to take?

So, I'm about to be offered the choice of El Shaawary, Yamaguchi, or Kalu, and I don't really know much about them.

Well, obviously I know about Shaawary from previous games, and he was my initial favourite as he is Italian and would fit my Serie A team...plus he's a LW, which I can use.

However, I then realised he plays in China, so he really won't be any use in my Premier League team, or my French team.

The other two I really don't know enough about in game.

I need some advice, please.

Who did you take?

Are they any good?

Do you regret your pick?

If so, why?

Interested to hear from you, guys.

Cheers.

Whoever I pick will be a super sub, looking at El Sha at the best option of those 3 personally.

However, if you completed the challenges for osimhen, kalu will strong link to him.

Yeah, I was thinking more of a sub.

But, I've already got plenty of Serie A subs and El Shaawary just feels limited with that CSL link.

I'm not sure I'll fully complete the Oshimen card, so whether Kalu is as useful I'm not sure.

Just compared the IGs of these and Kalu looks better, just El Sha has the 5* skills.

Yes, Kalu is probably the most balanced...though it doesn't always translate into in game quality.

    Why?

Was he just not very good, or not as good as what you already had?

El Sha has M/H work rate which put me off, looks a nice super sub or if you have like a CSL or Italian fitness team etc. I avoided him for the work rates and weak foot, but, can see why he would be popular for nostalgic reasons (I remember back to that silver card in 12...)

Yamaguchi is a nice little link for Shoji / Tomiyasu or Kubo / Nakajima. I took him, sort of speedy little interception machine with decent passing. However has since gone into an SBC so... there goes that. To be honest with this one unless he was starting in your team or fitness side he wasnt making the bench (I have SBC Battaglia and McKennie, SBC Bazoer, so plenty of options). Used him for a few games, seemed quite nice but didnt really excel at any one thing... I took him for the links and as I seemingly have a ton of nice unique Japanese cards at the moment, but subsequently changed up my team to fit this Storyline Akanji in

Kalu looks like the best option now I look back, regret not taking him. 4*4*, 98 acceleration and with a deadeye looks like a great little RF option especially alongside Osimhen - would have been a great link to help with those objectives (Futmas Simon - Osimhen - Kalu anyone..?) But having taken the Gelson Martins not long ago I gave this a miss, regrettably

That all said, at this point in the game whoever is picked is only likely to be stored away for future objectives or to go in to an SBC - some will get usage but I assume a lot will be for subs.

    Thanks, mate, that has helped.

I agree that whichever I take he's likely only a sub.

Still, I'd like to take the best.

I think I'll take Kalu, based on your advice.

Wish I had done the same but I didn't see Osimhen coming and got there before that point. Looks a great little RF and for the first owner objectives, Osimhen grind, potential future objectives he could be a helpful little player. Others on here have said he is quite good, but as mentioned likely super sub or stored away for now.

It's not like any of them are going to become the lynchpin of my team or anything.

Just figured it's at least worth seeing what others had experienced.

Seems Kalu is the best bet.

    That's pretty decent, isn't it?

I think I'm going to take Kalu.
