What's your Penalty conversion like?

So i've only ever lost 1 pen shoot out but from open play I'd say I only score 5% or 10% of the pens I take. Somehow the opponent always guesses the right way. Bit of a weird stat to have, never lose a shoot out but can't score a pen from open play haha

I had a draft semi final that went to sudden death as we both saved 5 penalties, 7th penalty and he scored so I lost 1-0. Bloody Schmichael in goal for both teams, always feared him ever since. Other than that I have won every penalty shoot out this year. My conversion rate in open play is about 9/10 goals for penalties. I find most people assume you will kick it in the direction of your strongest foot just drill it in the other corner. Changing takers is something else that is good to do. Change from a right footed shooter to a left one and they will still go right.

mine is opposite lol i score most of my pens unless its a shootout

Am I really the only one that knows the trick lol even when they guess right I always get it. I showed my friend the other day straight up started laughing

My penalty method (not shootouts).

Shooting - slightly off centre (same side the kicker is footed), circle big enough to cover most of floor to bar. If I don't know where it's going then I can't feel like I've been had if I miss.

Keeping - Go left. Always. Saves me from those last minute changes in mind and subsequent "I was going to go there" moments.

I use to suck at them but now score 9 out of 10 ever since I started timing them. Even if the keeper guesses the right way if you hit it green it will go in.

Mines quite high. Trezeguet (my main penalty taker) is lethal at them.
I just make my player look like he is shooting at a certain direction then flick it to other area of goal at last moment.

About 1 in 10 offline. Doesn't matter who I have taking them, doesn't matter who I'm taking it against, whether it's a bronze, silver or gold keeper, and it doesn't matter where I put them, the AI cheats on the higher difficulties and saves pretty much every single one. No other explanation for it when you've got a penalty specialist putting it in to the top corner perfectly yet a bronze keeper claws it out time and time again.

It's got to the point where I hate being given a penalty offline.

Same score 9/10 pens i usually flick head right & then slot it straight down middle easy 😂

With Scream Milner, scored 9/10.

With anybody else, even someone with insane penalty stats, scored 2/10. Maybe.

No idea why.

9/10. Never had an issues with penalties any year. With muscle memory you can pick your spot easily, plus it can be trained.

If you're struggling with them, take 5 minutes to practice them in skill games. Then take it up a notch by timing them.
