Suddently the companion app is being identified as malware. Anyone else running Into this problem? Android btw.

All of a sudden I'm having this identified as Malware and it's being recommended to uninstall from my phone. Has anyone else had this?

Yup.

Just got the same warning today. Wondering what triggers this. Probably something sketchy going on in the background. Maybe EA are using our phones to mine bitcoins 😂

I'm not getting that error on my own phone (android), are you getting it at a certain point or while you are executing a certain action? Can you let me know if you are both on Android & what device you are using? Ideally a screenshot would also give us some insight to this.

Have never encountered this before a warning popped up today.

edit: It basically says:

"Threat discovered
A malicious software or suspicious activity has been discovered. Uninstall the app to protect your phone and data"

Also, beneath the orange button is specifically says that Companion has been identified as malicious.

@Tue69 & @Skorpio71 can you let me know if you are on Samsung as well? I have another German player claiming it is happening to him on the S8 so it might be device/brand related.

Getting more contacts on this where players are using the McAfee anti-virus like @kaaasen is showing in his screenshot. Does anyone else use it?

Are you guys using Play Protect, the basic app scanner from Play store?

If so, switch off. It's too picky.

Same here. S7. No McAfee installed or something like that. Started from nothing. And my app is also working differently. I have to scroll down 2 times to pop up the search button in market. 2/3 days ago I just needed to scroll once.
