Not to be a troll, but if you want to relieve stress and chill, why not play something that is NOT competitive, because competitive games are generally not stressful or chilling, they're the exact opposite.

Yes, most sports video games have a competitive player vs player mode, and they are by definition competitive, and GENERALLY, I'd say in most cases, a competitive game isn't chilled or stress relieving instantly, how can it be competitive but chill? You have to outplay, outsmart, out think another person, that doesn't sound chill at all.

Loved fifa since it came out way back in 93 when i was a kid, n they dont pay attention to other game modes anymore. Game doesnt seem competetive to me now just seems repetetive? Boring and stressful at the same time but cant quite let go n just play something else...

Yeah that's fair enough, it's repetitive because it's competitive and the repetition comes from using the same meta systems, to be as competitive as possible, if that makes sense :joy:

I get the feeling though, but playing FUT Online won't change, maybe try normal online Seasons, the players there are less sweaty/meta/repetitive

I have a 3 year old daughter. I’ve been playing fifa for years. Constantly making my ultimate team and play lots of WL games.

But this fifa, i decided to quit and spend more time with my daughter. Instead of playing WL games, i am now going out with my daughter. We already went to the beach, kids’ parties and indoor playgrounds these past weekends.

Game is not worth it anymore. With all the bugs, delays and re-skinning of fifa year in and year out, fifa is no longer worth my time. Hopefully you’ll see how happy my daughter is, when i go out with her. You do the same and you’ll feel you pack cr7.

I hang out with my kids and just get as many games as I can in when they sleep

Thanks for the advice, thinking its time to let it go n concentrate on my family, especially if im not getting any joy out of it! Cant wait to be able to do those things with my daughter when shes a bit older

Lifelong habits die hard. The squeaky wheel gets the grease. The game was never bad to the point where casual players felt it was terrible enough to warrant complaining. Now it is. Find another to relieve stress. Your daughter is going to benefit from you having a positive attitude. That should be more important than a video game. EA only care about you spending money on FIFA points instead of your family.

Im always torn...its a love hate relationship. I play a few hours a day and ive got a 6 year old and 15 month old. Its getting harder to want to play WL...i havent played a single one so fad and dont know if i will.

I personally dont think quitting FIFA to spend more time with the kids is the answer.

Obviously time with the fam is important, i love chilling with my little dude an he is only 8 months old.

But as dads, it can be a stressfull life between work and family responsibilties. It's important to have something for you. Doesn't have to be this garbage game but something that you enjoy snd find relaxing.

The older I get and the older my daughter gets (she's six) I've become more of a casual. I only play early in the morning when my daughter is still asleep. Because I love the sport but not the competitive nature that FIFA has become. I build weird squads with silvers and bronzes and play squad battles and friendlies these days.

This may be a generational thing, but it's important, is that I've found success in life and appreciate spending time with my daughter and enjoying the things I've worked hard for that I have never cared about beating some other person online. I've always played games as an escape from the outside world. Not a reminder of some other realm to measure up against another.

While most may argue that the entire purpose of this mode is to engage with others, the way it has been implemented and evolved brings out the worst in a community already obsessed with winning at all costs. Toxic is being kind to what FIFA has become.

For it to be chill it can't just be about winning to you, it must be about solving problems. Exposing your self to the limitations of self expression when combated again a pure antagonist. Through this battle finding peace, or a semblance of it, comes from disassociating winning from success. Once you've leave the mind to ponder the challenges it faces without responding to is aching to be the Victor you transcend the winner loser dichotomy. Here you will achieve the pure FIFA force and become the unstoppable elite. It's simple, really, it stresses you out because of your expectations let them go and explore the game and make your own and that will be beautiful.

Have to agree with a lot of the other guys on here. If it’s stressing you out that much, step away from the online play. I play maybe 5-10 online games all week now just because I hate how frustrated and angry it can make me at times and I don’t want that around my kids. Good for anyone that enjoys online, but I can’t stand it anymore.

If you can’t stand playing the computer and need that online play then maybe try seasons. I actually like playing seasons with 3 and 4 star teams. You’ll find some great games.

If FIFA still drives you crazy, go get Forza Horizons, think it’s still free (Xbox anyways) and that game is a lot of fun when your just looking to relax and take it easy.

At the end of the day its just a GAME. Remember that ....ppl only stress because they have the wrong mentality. A game is meant to be enjoyed.. if you dont enjoy the game then the problem is the damn game not you. Therefore stressing over something you have no control of is pointless.

Yeah, I’m a mid 30s Dad of 2. Been staying up until 2-3 In the morning doing these damn Icon Swaps with a week old infant sleeping on my lap so my wife can get some sleep.

I just don’t take Fifa that seriously, it is a video game after all. I like to throw it on in the evening after kids in bed and slam some beers while playing. Splash some fifa points from time to time because I like to gamble, and trade on the web app when I am in airports/hotels traveling for work.

I never have enough free time to play an entire WL, so I don’t worry about that which I suppose takes some stress out of the game. The rewards don’t mean much to me anyway, if I wanted to have an elite team I’d just buy the fifa points.

2 kids, 4 and 1.5. I do not play when they both are awake. I'm having fun, took a break from 19 because 17-18 was so-so with the ai defense. 20 is fun when the right stick works, and when the passes doesn't feel random.

Im still trying to get back into the same level as I was in 17-18 but gold 2 with three games to spare both times (loosing the first then stopping). Usually though I just have a goal for WL, good enough rewards. Usually silver 1. Doesn't take that much time.

And rivals, it's all dandy. I still don't play it that serious. I'm div 4 going up towards 3 but also down towards 5 depending on mood and if I just try stuff. The rewards in 4-5 is also good enough. I'm not trying to go pro so why bother.

In older FIFA i usually won div 1 every other week with a new formation, but if the rewards were better then I would probably never win it. Just gotta find the balance. When reading forum threads and judging how people play, they all seem to think they are almost going pro.. can't see their own flaws and try to hard to win and not having fun while winning just a tad bit less.

GL mate. Find that balance and family first.

Put your controller through the TV and you'll be less inclined to play the same [email protected] every game. Or alternatively get a decent friends list of people who play the game regularly and play online friendlies.

I also find online seasons to be a far better game mode as all the sweatyness is removed via slower game speed and no chem cards.
