Fifa 19 vs Fifa 20

I can imagine that this will no doubt get me criticism but my thoughts for what it’s worth.

This Fifa is a step in the right direction in my opinion for the purist. Fifa 19 was very arcade with questionable and unrealistic power up moves like tornados and croquettas.

Does that mean one is better than the other?

Depends on your player and personal preference. At the minute you need to focus and concentrate 100% and not try to spam pressure and skill moves. Can you always be that immersed in a 15 min fun activity? Well you better be it that 15 mins will turn to a stress fest where you will lose. Fifa 19 you could switch off for 10 mins and go exploit mad in 5 mins and score 5.

Connectivity remains an issue you can still quit at 0-0 and not lose. The disconnect and grant opponent a lose exists and in online matches there is a slight delay some times between pressing a button and an action. What I must stress however the responsiveness or sluggishness I’ve seen it called is the sane for each player. Therefore not an issue and you need to work round it by being patient. I watched Crystal palace vs West Ham today and was surprised how much like Fifa 20 it was so at the minute good job EA.

PLEASE DO NOT REPATCH TO LAST YEARS SETTINGS AS HAS HAPPENED EVERY YEAR FOR THE PAST 2/3 YEARS

So because you saw one West Ham chance where Yarmolenko squated the ball across goal to Haller you think this years Fifa is anything like real life football?

People are completing more dribbles than passes ffs. You can't tackle unless you're sprinting full speed with a 5'7 winger straight into the guy with the ball. You literally have no control over where headers go.

That's just three things. Theres so many more that makes this game the most awful Fifa in a long time.

IMO 19 set the bar so low that anything starts to look like a step in the right direction. I liked this game at first, but the more I play it the more I realize it has its fair share of issues and imbalances. But at the end of the day, I still prefer to play this than 19.

I didn't even know how to do an el tornado.

But at least there was some semblance of actual football other than the broken skill moves.

If you like watching players do four 360 spins on the spot with the ball every time they get it and think that's how football should be that, thats your prerogative.

The games an absolute joke. Some of the stuff my players are doing and arent doing when I'm pressing the buttons is unbelievable. It's worse than fifa 19! It was fine before the patch. Ruined the game again.

I don't understand how anyone in their right mind even compares this game to FIFA 19. FIFA 19 was so bad, its ridiculous.

While this game might have some problems it is certainly a step in the right direction. The main problem that comes to my mind is passes not going the direction intended.

The main thing about this game that makes it better than the last title is the fact that it actually rewards the better player. As defending is not as heavily CPU controlled anymore you have another department where you can outplay your opponent. Love it or hate it, but it actually makes the skill gap bigger which is huge for a game that is an esport.

Certain stuff might need a nerf, such as playing fall back. But, all in all, I think EA did a good job and for once I am actually enjoying the game.

Me too most enjoyable WL ever. 14 wins from 18. Not playing further I’ve been rewarded when I’ve played well and punished when I haven’t. It’s been a fair game no exploits just same for both in terms of the game mechanics
