Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is preparing to welcome back the cavalry for Manchester United’s clash with Premier League leaders Liverpool at Old Trafford on Sunday.

Anthony Martial, Victor Lindelof, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Luke Shaw are all in contention to return for the visit of Jurgen Klopp’s in-form side as Solskjaer bids to arrest United’s alarming slide.

Martial resumed full training this week after seven-and-a-half weeks out with a thigh injury and, barring any setbacks, Solskjaer hopes to have the France striker fit to lead the line against Liverpool in what would be a timely boost given United’s troubles in front of goal.

    🤩

    Pogba a doubt though sadly:
Paul Pogba will be examined over the course of this week as United’s medical staff assess his recovery from an ankle injury which has forced him to miss five of United’s last seven matches, although the Liverpool game could come too soon.

Yep. Had a problem earlier in the game but played on for a while, had to go off eventually though

It’s okay. Romero is the best back up keeper in the league.

Well he is, doesn't mean we wouldn't rather our first choice keeper playing if he was fit.

I'd rather DDG be in net but I'm confident in Romero so not horribly worried.

Everyone should fully expect he'll have one howler in whatever period he'll be playing but it'll otherwise be fine.

We'll go on a similar run to last year when we had a mad unbeaten run. Those games after during the Xmas period will kill us though.

We'll be top or 2nd by the start of Xmas period.

Your opinions are so bad. It’s good nobody takes notice.

    Of course he would.

    I mean.. it's hardly a rediculous opinion.

Romero is probably the best backup but a couple are up there including Adrian.

I don't really know why Romero is happy playing 2nd choice during his peak years tbh, especially in a period where he isn't actually winning much. Is Henderson going to replace him next year?

“Top or 2nd” is a suggestion that Arsenal will be 2nd, but also a suggestion that Arsenal will be top.

So Gervonta was right. You suggested that Arsenal will be top.

    It's hardly a stupid comment.

AWB and Shaw will likely reclaim the fullback spots on their return from injury and if Axel / Maguire got a partnership going in Lindelof's absence, it would hardly make sense to disturb it.

He was talking about getting back in the first team, not in the starting XI.

Lindelöf didn't get injuried and did play well today so expecting to see him start against Liverpool.

Against opponents like Mane/Firmino/Salah then Lindelöf is without a doubt our best CB.
Would like to see him and Axel. Could see them running circles around Maguire.

Maguire has to play to mark VVD on corners.

We should probably consider a back 3 if there's no DDG/Pogba tbh
    Romero
    Lindelof---Tuanzebe---Maguire
    AWB---McTominay---Pereira---Shaw
    Rashford---Martial---James

Wasn't really thinking about positioning in that back 3 but yeah probably given he's the least mobile and best in the air.

    Good point.

But for some reason it's always Victor who gets the big guys on corners.

Wrong, I meant the first team as in the starting 11. Lindelof needs to be on top form over the coming weeks, personally would've dropped Lindelof after his multiple clangers. Axel is well capable of taking his spot.
