Pointing out the obvious but for the newcomers.... ‘investing’ in the traditional sense isn’t very rational unless you are confident that their value will inflate disproportionately to the rest of the market. Otherwise the players you want to buy will have inflated by the same amount by the time you realise the capital to buy them, and the more expensive the players you want, the wider that gap becomes after inflation.
For example say you want Griezmann and he’s 300k on Day 1. You have 100k so you buy 20 x Saint Maximin for 5k each. Then the market inflated by 50% and your 100k has become 150k - a 50k gain - whilst Griezmann has risen by 150k.
Quick flips are the way to go for me. In the example above you’d be much better off using your 100k to buy and quickly flip cards for relatively small profits. A bit of time and effort and you can easily turn that 100k into 200k etc and ‘beat’ the inflation.
