TL;TR below....

What time of the year did they release the news of changing game engine when 17 came out?

Im crossing my fingers it will happen for Fifa 20

please please please please please

Im in Scandinavian and yesterday i met two Saudi Arabian players,
one in Normal Season
one in FUT weekend League

The one in Normal Seasons was with stutter lag and heavy touches, heavy turning and slow gameplay

The FUT Weekend League game was not slow,
it took him 4-5-6 passes to create a chance,
boom boom boom every pass on point with me not being able to get close to even tackle,
manually block the passing lane,
or manually position my players to close down upcoming caps or passes
My AI was constantly behind and very rarely made any auto interceptions, auto blocks or auto slides
In attack my players were stuck in mud, not making forward runs to make space, always covered by his AI,
losing balance to the slightest touch from a defender,
falling over and taking a weird long animation with a heavy touch
and skill moves was not registered until 2 seconds later

In Fifa 15 i played the same Saudi Arabian guy in Normal Seasons at least 30 times,
close and hard fought games in Div 1, responsive gameplay, both manually defending and closing each other down, trying NOT to have a defensive blunder, that would be punished with a goal against us
Every game was enjoyable and led to us friending each other

"The servers cant handle the Frostbite engine" is it that simple?

Look how the game has become more and more unresponsive for every release

In Fifa 17 the AI was already so strong people could not touch their defenders,
run home with their attackers or midfielders, and get away with the win, by NOT manually defending

Delay and heavy gameplay level in Fifa 17: 0-2 games out of 10.

In Fifa 18 the AI got a tad stronger not much,
but new coding and calculation of things happening on the field
ment delay was introduced in more games

Delay and heavy gameplay level in Fifa 18: 2-5 games out of 10.

In Fifa 19 the level of AI is so high that whatever coding or calculation the engine needs to do to have the 22 players move like they do, is too much for the servers
The way your players "LOCK ON" to a tackle, a lose ball or an enemies "x" pass/ trough ball is way too precise,
and these "LOCK ONS" are the reason theres so many 50/50's through out a game,
theres so many 50/50's it becomes an RNG fest the servers cant handle.

Delay and heavy gameplay level in Fifa 19: 7-8 games out of 10.

TL;TR

Constant Pressure, Pressure on heavy touch and Team Press: the engine makes the defending teams players mirror every move of the attacking teams players all over the pitch, with constant "LOCK ONS" and RNG 50/50's

Drop back and Balanced means that once the defending team is pressed back into their final third,
the defending team is mirroring every move, with auto blocks, auto slides, "LOCK ONS" and RNG 50/50's

All this resulting in way too heavy load on the servers.

They keep on holding on to the frostbite engine. Look at anthem.
Well it's made for FPS and it does decently there. I remember cte server times on Battlefield4 or them introducing high tick rate servers.
Why don't we have something similar for fifa ? A community test environment

New star wars engine is going to use Unreal, so it would be interesting to see those visuals and how EA may move over but I can't see them paying £££ to Epic.

They won't drop Frostbite. Their CEO gave the directive to drop everything except Frostbite so they only need one engine and save costs..

I dont like your guys' reply 🙊🙊🙊🙊

EA at least test your game with one sitting far far away from the server,
and the other close to the server to make sure your game
runs smoothly with all the coding and calculation you are putting into the game

Thats the thing though aint it? They test all their games right inside a building next to their servers so there “is no issue with the server”, but anyone miles from it would be in lagg-ville

There's a different form of CTE exhibited by EA.
