Who should get in?

For squad purposes I'm going with 23

Allison/Foster

Robinson/Kolasinac

Van Dijk/Laporte/Vertoghen/Sokratis

Wan Bissaka/Doherty

B.Silva/D.Silva/Fernandinho/Rice

Sterling/Hazard/Mane/Son/Salah

Aguero/Kane/Aubameyang/Lacazette

    Etheridge?
    TAA-Laporte-van Dijk-Robertson
    Sterling-Bernardo-Sigurdsson-Hazard
    Aguero-Mane

Doherty is a difficult one since he played RWB imo.

Has sigurdsson done enough to stop Fernandinho being in the team

I'm really unsure on that pick, but Sig has scored loads and on a constant basis. Pogba is an option too, but he wasn't that good for half of a season, so he does not get in for me.

I had the other four in mind when I made the decision to exclude him from my 23 but thinking about it, id take Rashford out (who was my wildcard pick) and put Salah in there.

    Foster
    Wan-Bissaka - VVD - Laporte - Robertson
    Fernandinho
    Moutinho - B.Silva
    Sterling - Aguero - Hazard

Other notable mentions for Mane and Salah, but you can only fit so many players in one team

I think Wolves' midfield is a big part of why they've been so successful this season, it was a choice between him and Neves. Originally I had it as Moutinho/Neves, but I went for Moutinho in the end as he's been quality when I've watched him play this season. (So has Neves, but you can only pick one)

Imagine leaving Hazard out. Has the most goal contributions in the league.

Last season one player made the official team of the season that wasn't in a team in the top 4. There could only be so many in a team. Sterling has just two less contributions in three fewer games, and Mane has been instrumental in Liverpool managing to take this unbelievable City side to what looks like being down to the wire. Take off the Chelsea hat for a minute and you might realise that other people have had very impressive seasons too. I even acknowledged the fact that Hazard could justifiably be included, but in that formation there could only be two wingers and there are 4 that warrant a place. People are going to miss out.

Forgetting specific names for a minute, I personally don't like when they shoehorn players into completely different positions they haven't played to get them into the team of the season. I'm not talking like a particular side for a winger, but like including someone who plays as a number 10 in central midfield. As far as possible, the standout performers for each position should be included in the team, they shouldn't try and shoehorn as many attackers into a team as possible. Positions like defensive midfield can have stand out seasons that can go unnoticed because they don't rack up the goals or assists.

Now it’s getting quite close to that time. Most teams have 6 games left and we know who’s performed the best throughout the WHOLE season.

A squad of 23 players is actually difficult to pick for some. But what’s yours? Pick two keepers and then mix it up any way you like.

    Mine -

    Alisson

    Robertson
    Van Dijk
    Laporte
    Vertonghen

    Sterling
    Fernandinho
    Bernardo Silva
    Mane

    Aubameyang
    Aguero

Subs - Fabianski, Doherty, Hazard, Son, David Silva, Jiminez, Kane

Reserves - Gylfi, Lacazette, Wan Bissaka, Fraser, Wilson

Good to see you are consistent at least @TakeItSlow 😂 literally 5 hours apart.

Yet another reason to not take your opinion seriously.

Me neither, he's been invisible for large parts of the season. He had a good month or so around christmas but that's it.

    Alisson
    Doherty Van Dijk Laporte Robertson
    Salah Fernandinho B.Silva Hazard
    Aguero Kane

    Reserve XI
    Etheridge
    TAA Sokratis Vertonghen Digne
    Sterling Neves Sigurdsson Mane
    Vardy Aubameyang

Could argue Sterling over Salah but Mo has more goal contributions. Last 4-5 games should separate the two.

David De Gea. Without him at Man United, they would probably be facing regulation; no exaggeration either.

Robertson, Van Dijk, Laporte, Alexander Arnold

    Pogba, Kante and Joao Moutinho

    Hazard, Aguero and Sterling.

    Reserves
Whole Wolves' side tbh. Wan-Bissaka, Ake, Vardy and Fraser.

    And me.

It's not like Payet who came in and took the league by storm, there's been plenty of better attackers this season. If you're throwing him in for a bit of club diversity then fair enough but he doesn't deserve to be in the actual team.

The figures and links being thrown around regarding a possible transfer are nuts. He has 12 goal contributions in 31 league games. West Ham paid £36m, it's been a good signing for them but I'm nowhere near convinced he's ready to take the step up yet.

He only got suggested as a player in the best of the rest team, not the actual one with the bigger teams

I'd agree with something like this

I think it was FUTWIZ who put him down in their TOTS prediction.
