How many tackles do you have to make?

Every game I'm finding myself having to tackle 3-4 times without the ball bouncing straight back to the other player.

Causing a lot of random bounces into the opposition in dangerous areas, leading to goals you simply cant prevent.

Becoming a real joke now.

It's just plain stupid. The game rewards you for not touching your defenders and punishes you for manually defending and making perfectly timed tackles.

I still don't care though as I would rather lose than sit and let the AI do everything for me.

Yeah, it's funny because I don't remember people complaining about the tackling in FIFA 18, yet they 'fix' that. And none of the things that were wrong with that game were fixed.

It is a absolute joke. I make some great tackles for it to then fall to then bounce back to them every time

I hate nothing more than having my Prime Keane tackle a weak attacker straight on only to have it look like he's tackled a brick wall as all his momentum stops, the ball bounces past him and the weak attacker keeps trucking on.

You then repeat the same trick with Prime Ferdinand and the attacker goes on to score. At that point you start thinking the tackle button is just a suggestion to your players as they rarely win them.

Was like this in overdrive for me late last night.
The game was really scrappy and at one point I kept passing to the opposition who kept passing it straight back to me. Managed to win the 2 games I played (one on pens) but they were not enjoyable at all.

On the plus side I had 4 people back out in a row on me after I had got early goals in the afternoon 😊 (before losing an enjoyable game to a v good player) but the night time was a night mare

I stopped tackling manually almost entirely, and just run into the player instead. Works a lot better than actually trying to tackle

Heaps of my opponents do this and it is basically always successful.

I had a guy make 25+ tackles in a match earlier.. It was ridiculous, every tackle just snatched the ball..

Yeah, you should really only tackle to block balls. Sliding tackles are good sometimes though, but just running into the ball is deffo the best tactic.

Same issue occurred in 18 and previous ones to that.

Yeah, I have a mate who loves to bounce the ball off the defenders legs to get past them.

This is really the issues, do we want it to be a simulation or a game?

Tackle manually and the ball bounces back to them 6 tines, don’t tackle and run into them and they end up just phasing through your player almost defying physics, can’t seen to win either way personally.

hate tackling system this year
you make a tackle and the ball bounces to another player in a better situation to score. sometimes it bounces as a perfect pass for a tap in.

there is no loose ball in FIFA and thats a huge problem. the ball always magnetize to a player. but never loose

I don't know but Juan Mata as a cdm has just dominated my Prime Keano and PIM Gerrard which is a absolute joke then Sterling outmuscles TOTY Varane on a couple of occasions.. I just laugh now on how unbalanced and pathetic this game has become..

I don't have a problem with people running into the player to get the ball back, at least they're manually doing something. I use a combination of both. HOWEVER, neither works. Regardless of what you do, if you manually do anything defensively you're more than likely going to get punished for it, even if you do it successfully.
