We have reversed the below changes for now.

We'll continue to look at how permissions on the forum work and will need to make some changes in the future but it isn't our intention to stop well established accounts from posting on the forum as they've always done.

Apologies for any inconvenience.

*End update*

Hey all,

I wanted to let you know about some changes we'll be implementing on the forum today.

While we want as many people as possible to use the forums we also want to keep the discussion and feedback relevant and focused to those actively playing the games on the forum they're posting in.

At the moment there is a permission needed to use the forum which is essentially if you have a copy of FIFA on your EA account you can post on the forums.

We will be changing this to the following:

If you have the latest version of FIFA, or the previous you can post everywhere. For now this means FIFA 18+19 but would change for any future FIFA titles.

If you have older titles only then you will be able to post in the generation sections only. For example - if you own FIFA 17 you can post in FIFA 17 generations and below (FIFA 16, 15 etc). If you have FIFA 16 you can post in the FIFA 16 generations forum and below.

Off-topic and Real Football won't change and will be accessible to post for anyone with FIFA on their account. We will monitor these sections and may also create permissions to use these down the line.

All forums will still be available to read by everyone, we are only changing the ability to participate in the discussions for some people on certain forums.
