Paris finally won the prize they have been searching for, Ligue 1 title comes to the noisy neighbours Paris FC for the first time in their history, Bellegarde did it within five years of taking over the club, an incredible achievement for the manager to take a mid-table Ligue 2 side to a Ligue 1 title winning side in a 5 year period with no extra funding apart from what the club makes. Many top clubs are looking at him as an option now, Barcelona, Real Madrid, Man Utd and so on, so will he be tempted to leave and not only that many key players could be bought with the likes of Wamangituka, Castel, Konate, Valery, Gbamin all getting big interest.

Paris had an incredible debut Champions League run making it to the final in their first attempt and losing on penalties to what many call the best team in the world right now Atletico Madrid. The journey there was one to remember, all the way from the group stage, Paris needed a good result in the final game at home to Juventus to progress which they dug deep and won 3-1. Current holders Liverpool awaited them in the R16, a strong home performance saw Paris shock the world and beat Klopp's men 3-0, Liverpool fought back in the 2nd leg but a key away goal was enough to progress, Paris winning 4-3 on agg.

Napoli was always going to be a tough game in the last eight but Paris were surprisingly the favourites and a lot of hype followed them, two away goals in a 2-2 draw in Naples was a good result to take home and things went according to plan in the 2nd leg with Paris demolishing the Italian side 4-0 winning 6-2 on agg. Barcelona would be a massive threat in the semi finals and Paris would need a strong professional performance to get the best of them over 180 minutes and they did just that, winning the first leg at home 2-0 denying Barcelona an away goal and what was most impressive was the performance at Camp Nou with a 1-0 win in what will go down as one of the best defensive performances of all time.

Finally Paris reached the final, a very cagey, narrowly fought game between two teams with immense talent and the will to win and be the best in Europe. Paris left back Maouassa got a straight red 35 minutes into the game that complicated things for Bellegarde, however Paris fought well with both teams reaching a stalemate after extra time, Atletico finally won the game 4-3 on penalties thanks to a bit of quality from Oblak whom many regard as the best keeper in the world right now. The Paris players and manager were disappointed with the result but can only be proud of their performance in the final, until next season Paris.

Diego Simeone has done incredible things at Atletico Madrid over the years, winning the Spanish league three times in the past four seasons and this year he didn't just win the league, he won the domestic cup and the UEFA Champions League completing the treble. Right now Atletico Madrid are the best team in world football, but his journey there comes to an end, Simeone will manage Manchester United from next season as he looks for a new challenge leaving Atletico in the hands of former player Gabi.
In other news Tottenham finally with the English Premier League for the first time in 62 years, a massive achievement for the English born manager Eddie Howe.

Absolutely brilliant season. Paris, as expected was among the best in Ligue 1. I think the team benefited from the low point average record. 75 points usually aren't enough to win a league, but the errors of the rivals made the miracle possible. Congratulations for the title!

Much more impressive (was it possible?) was the UCL debut. One by one Paris left behind European giants to reach the final. Sadly the penalties denied the title... a historic chance that was missed. Could it be repeated? Still... a great story of success.

    Congrats for this brilliant season.

As expected in the half of the season, Paris held the title for the first time and a brilliant result in the UCL despite not winning. From the shadow of PSG to playing the final of the biggest club competition in the world, Bellegarde proved himself as one of the brightest managers of this new generation.
Still don't know about his future, what can you say about it?

Fantastic season. To make the UCL final and go all the way to penalties is an incredible achievement. You have built a great squad and did it the right way, not the City/PSG way.

Hopefully in the final season you can win UCL and go out on top.
