Almost every match I play I come up against people who are parking the bus, the only way to score is from outside the box, and this may come as a shock to you but I hardly ever press the finesse button!!
What you are trying to do is to have long shots nerfed so you can continue to park the bus and not concede and then launch lobbed through balls forward.
90% of my goals are long shots because you have 11 men in your own box.
How about you come out of your box and we play a proper game of football yea?

I play manual defence too, yet I couldn't get my players to camp in my own box even if I tried!
Unless they sort out players being camped on the box, ai defence then long shots will remain as it's the only way to score.
I like how people say ai defense and longshots are the only way to score 😂
Probably 1/20 of my goals come from a lucky longshot, other than that all my goals are from within the box at roughly the 6m mark 😝
That's because you park the bus and you come up against people like me who don't park the bus.
I never park the bus 😂 playing defence is just asking for a hard counter

The game is broken because of the timed finesse. You could as well be defending a 100% working way to score from your own side of field with that logic if there was such a method. The game being a timed finesse competition with no way to counter eliminates the need to build up and has nothing to do with football. Until this is patched, the game is seriously broken.
You gotta forget about dribbling when facing the ai and the this f contain button where there players are magicians and can stick to you like glue.
Anyway OP, i completely agree. But letting the ai defend for you is better than manually defending, That's why every one just parks the bus
When facing the ai defence or contain as you so eloquently put it, force. A. Penalty. It isnt that hard, all you gotta do is Bumper + direction opponent is containing, when defender goes for the tackle quickly move opposite direction
Also manual defending is way better than ai defending, ai defending will usually leave 1 on 1 with keepers, but manual defending can easily regain possession in their final third
Thats why the priority should be to nerf defense. Tone down the AI defending first. New ways of attacking will open up as a consequence. After that tone down timed finesse shots just a touch so not every player even with low shooting while turning 180 degrees can score a finesse shot from outside the box.
Nerfing AI defense should be priority number 1. Timed finesse/finesse outside the box can be nerfed after that. Only nerfing finesse shots outside the box only makes the game even worse.
by themselves and the blocking lol. They totally reversed the AI defending nerf in the latest patch. Sometimes two or three attempt to block one shot.

It’s entirely possible to pull a PTB defense apart with patient build up, but the fact that you are not then rewarded for manual defending yourself or your opp can timed finesse with VERY LITTLE effort from unrealistic distances, with weak foot is not right.
A balance would be easy to achieve here, if you park the bus(ie play with low depth) you should find it EXTREMELY hard to create chances - just like in real life.

I am not the greatest player but I know an area I need to improve on is to use skills to manipulate play (Drag backs etc) but I literally use no skills. Maybe it’s my age (39). Lol
One area of the game that really annoys me and I still have no idea how to do it is how players smash through the back of me all the time and win the ball. When I seem to do anything similar it’s a foul straight away.
I also hate the fact that an opposition full back can run completely the wrong direction to try an intercept a pass on the wing and then recover in time to stop a cross when a fast winger has a few meter head start. Very annoying and unrealistic. I don’t mind it when the defender is running the same direction and catches up but so unrealistic when they start facing the wrong way
What a load of crap.
I have played against people who get down the flanks, have options in the box, but wait for one of their players to be 30 yards outside the box, near the D. They then pass back for a finesse shot........ rinse and repeat. I play balanced / balanced and still concede finesse from outside the box 4/5 times.
PTB is easy to break down, if you are actually any good at the game. If you are moaning about PTB then I guess you are not......
The reason people use "fall back" and the reason every pro uses it is because you need all bodies back around your box otherwise you will conceede a nice amount of times finess shot from any angle outside the box.

They need to sort player switching as well then. Sick to death of trying to switch to the player closest to the ball so I can tackle then the game picks a different player. Rarely goes to the one who has the triangle over their had.
4-2-3-1 all players on come back on defence and low depth is the equivalent of PTB
I dont really care, I just want defenders and TF nerfed. If you PTB its obvious that you’re bad at defending. Your time will come though, there’s patches and nerfs for guys like you.
