4-3-3 PTB

Anybody else having to deal with this lately? I feel like every person I’m playing is a carbon copy of the last. 4 defenders, 3 mids all stay back, just spam through passes wide. Win or lose it’s getting boring and repetitive.

Tbh I've had no problems at all with ptb users this year. It's easier than ever to beat them with timed finesse shots. Its about the only time I actually still use timed finesse shots.

That’s the thing though, by coming up against PTB I have to resort to time finesse exploits and it’s just becoming dull and boring.

Yup. This wl was full of 433 variants. Just a nightmare to break down and then your fullbacks seem to fall asleep letting Lucas/Mahrez/Mbappe/neymar/sterling to sprint and cross for auba/Werner/Jesus to head in

When they nerf timed finishing more I assume that is all you will see as there won’t be a counter.

Is there ever a formation people would like to play against? All I ever see on these forums is whinging about 4231, 433, 41212.... like really what do you want? These are common real life formations. Most teams in reality look to exploit the wide. The days of 442 etc are limited.

What I’d want mate is a decent match from somebody as opposed to PTB merchants who despite spending a fortune on their teams are content to just sit back and spam the through pass button at every opportunity.

Also mate you’re talking about these are common formations but when people use those formations for templates to create 8 and 9 man defenses I don’t really call that common in real life football

What you want and get is different things mate. Try being a Newcastle fan and every match having to watch that style of football!! Hitting teams on the break as miserable as it is, can be effective.

Highly unlikely many of them are actually using 433 in game. Majority will be switching their wingers into wide CAMs and using 4231 narrow.

Everyone just uses 433 for chemistry as it has fewer links than some of the other formations so you can get maximum amount of sweaty players crammed in.

Just coming back to your last point, a lot of it boils down to pressure in this game I think. There's times I feel pegged back in my own half through no fault of mine and vice versa in other games. Constant pressure etc are to blame for a lot of the ptb.

I’ve put in bold the important part. These people don’t have to play this way, they spend fortunes to get elite teams and yet because this game encourages grinding out of results people kill enjoyment from the game

Think you’re giving people too much credit if you think they’re inadvertently playing that way. I’ve played enough matches where I can tell pretty quickly which people are PTB merchants by choice.

I'd like more of your opposition. I just tend to come across people who try to peg you in or look to win pens by skilling in the box or cutting back.
