What formation(s) are you using?

Can’t find one atm.

Any suggestions to try based on the below?

Enjoy good width and crossing into box.
Need to control midfield (plenty of bodies in there).
Like to attack with full backs.
Need to have link players involved.
Like defensive stability but good counter attack options.

If you haven’t try 3-5-2. It’s great against narrow formations that only attack with 3, and even holds its own against 4-2-3-1; although you may be in for a higher scoring game!

Some sort of version of 433 from what it sounds like, 433(4) is very attacking

442 as it is the best formation by a mile for cross abuse, it is fairly solid with the right players and it is different from the usual 4231and 41212 and it counters both.

Tight down the centre. Spreads wide when opened up

4411 and 4231. 4411 is too open in the midfield though against counter attack.

442 is interesting but who to use as the 2 in midfield?

Easy to get over run I imagine.

4312 is my main bish, 4321 my mistress, and 3421 for fun. Kinda wanna set up a half decent side in 3421 and outscore.

    No not really.

Best combo is obviously Gullit and Vieira, both are not b2b mids. One stays back the other attacks but they synch so well when they play with each other.

They are both well rounded, one more attacking ofc but i always prefer 2 b2b in that formation. They are the pinnacle for that formation no doubt, but both extremely capable from b2b. Guess our definition of b2b mids differs

Edit: for pov example i think Matuidi-Pogba would be quality as a pair and both are capable from b2b with good stamina, with one more attacking/defensive.

No, haven’t tried 5ATB. It feels too defensive, and I generally hate anyone who plays it because it feels like Park the bus! :D

My current team starts like this:

And if I switch to 3-5-2, it looks like this:

451 with two cams. Options on the wing, two cam's to create and can help defensively.
Have the fullbacks on overlap and join the attack, wide mids to cut inside and cams on free roam

You can over run them easy in their half and put pressure on them to make it hard to get out their half.
Im using it now, defensively you have to be good as its defending usually 3 against 3 or 4 against 3 but im conceding less than i did using 4231, 41212 or 442
