EA, you know, when it's not your turn, or you're allegedly "on a bad day". ;)

    I'm confused.

    What's the issue?

You shouldn't have slid in. That happens all of the time in real life.

I’m not sure what football you are watching but I don’t see that happen all the time. In fact I don’t know if I’ve ever seen that happen and I watch a lot of football.

Ball teleporting through the legs of your player. It’s something that’s been in FIFA for awhile now and yet EA have done nothing about this unbelievably embarrassing bug.

    It’s a nutmeg.

Have you never seen a nutmeg before?

So basically every tackle, shot, pass, save, cross etc. Has to be perfect in this game, because that’s the button you pressed?

It wouldn’t come close to replicating real life. I’m glad you get MINOR errors like this, it makes the game more realistic.

It’s not even an error! It’s a nutmeg.

Am I the only person on the planet who has seen a nutmeg in football before?

You’ve gone in late on the tackle and missed the ball therefore it’s gone through your legs. No error as far as I can see

Are you even paying attention to what you're saying? The attacker didn't touch the ball to pass it between his legs. The defender went for the ball and completely missed it WITHOUT his opponent touching it again, I've watched it from all the possible angles because, of course, him missing an easy tackle there led to a goal seconds later.

You're probably playing so much FIFA that you don't even know what football is anymore. Shame on you.

and not, @Peanut2000, it was the perfect timing

It was not perfect timing at all.

On a closer inspection it’s either a classic nutmeg but the graphics are a bit dodgy or a badly timed tackle. Whatever it is, it’s something that happens all of the time in real life. In fact in real life I’ve done a tackle just like that where I missed the ball in the exact same way.

If you want to pick up problems with the game I’d be more interested in the random deflections that defy the laws of physics. That is an issue. Mistiming a tackle and/or a nutmeg is not.

In future don’t use slide tackle unless it’s a last resort. Same in real life. Stay on your feet and pressure but don’t commit. It’s the secret to the art of defending.

In this case Messi touch the ball first. In that case no.

Or one is real life and the other is a recreation of real life. The result of course was the exact same. At worst it's a graphic glitch. I don't care about graphic glitches.

As I keep saying if you want to pick up cheats focus on the bigger issues like the random rebounds. I have started a whole thread on it which nobody has bothered commenting on. Maybe I go too general. I need really specific complaints like that time I tried to get a left footed player to hit and he awkwardly moved the ball from his left to his right foot to give the CPU time to block the shot.

I uploaded to youtube some of the many issues I ran across last year. Heres a small sample all related to the terrible FROSTBITE engine

How can this possibly be onsides:

    Great help by prime Rio:

No penalty, no foul, no call:

In my favor, but ridiculous. Should have been a Sterling foul, then ball through defenders foot on an attempted clearance:

    Obvious blatant dive, penalty awarded:

How can you even describe this:

My player slide tacked from behind, yet he receives yellow:

    No goal? But a booking?:

In my favor again, but no way this should've went in, bad shot timing, no way the ball curves in that direction:

Collision engine, yep FROSTIBTE is the best at it:

You don't think there is a problem with this engine in this franchise?

same position, same timing, same everything bur different result

    8KvCALJ.gif

the 53 ovrl Chinese defender didn't nutmegged himself like the 70something la liga defender
Can the nutmeg specialist explain to me why did the much worse defender had no problem getting the ball there? no only that but his movement was a proper sliding tackle movement, the 1st one just went for the ball with his legs wide open.. a disgrace

Engine is terrible. Anyone claiming otherwise is naive. Just look at the videos I posted above. Indefensible game engine.

Yes. That happens in life. You can do the exact same thing and get different results. If that was not the case then life and football would be so predictable as to cease having any joy or surprise in it.

The bigger problem with your video is the movement of the other attacker in orange. The player in white won the ball and the ball is going towards the other white player and the orange miracously moves in front of the player in white.

That is pure manipulation to win the ball back.

Perhaps if any part of the player tackler morphed/glitched through the ball then maybe I would agree.

Is the Ball going through his left leg aswell? That's how it looks.

Forget the sliding for a second. The STANDING TACKLE is 100% broken in this game. The AI on WC makes perfect timed tackles even with strikers and keep the ball 90% of the time. User tackles with manual button are only won 10% of the time. You can win more tackles AUTOMATICALLY by holding contain instead of with the tackle button.

Watch the video below and on the last replay you can see the exact moment the ball locks in to the striker instead of the ball moving naturally.

I'm actually surprised at how the viewpoints on this are so split.
I personally wouldn't slide there because I know a bit about how the game works.

As it has been said a nutmeg is when the ball is played through a players legs. Not when he slides at a ball that is almost stationary and opens both legs to completely miss it.

This is just bad code. To the person who said the rng makes it interesting and realistic. I agree and it would be fine except the game is an eSports game where people can win considerable amounts of money. Rng shouldn't be an aspect of that.
