Just so you know, you're not the only one. So don't panic.

YouTube, the second-most visited website in the world, went down on Tuesday evening, users said, and the issue appears to be affecting people around the world. Only few details were immediately available.

The outage began at 9:10 p.m. ET on Tuesday. People who use the desktop version are able to see the website’s template, but no content is shown, and video pages display the following message: “An error occurred. Please try again later.”

Users of the app are also unable to use the service.

It was not immediately known what caused the problem or how long it will take to resolve. All regions of the world appear to be affected, with reports coming in from North and South America, Europe, Asia, Australia, and New Zealand.

“Thanks for your reports about YouTube, YouTube TV and YouTube Music access issues,” YouTube said in a statement. “We’re working on resolving this and will let you know once fixed. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and will keep you updated.”
