so... one more success story from me (sorry )
I got a red 97 Salah yesterday in my rewards (and 95 T. Silva... not bad!) and I really wanted to try him out, but the only way I could get him into the team, was by playing a 3-5-2, which I actually didnt play at all this year.
So, I thought F** it and I changed my team (all on full chem, after formation change it looked like this)
CR7 - Eusebio
Ronaldino - Cruyff - Salah
M. Alonso - Vieira
VvD - De Ligt - Dumfries
Started playing some in DR (Div2) and it all clicked after the first match. I won 7 in a row (never did that before) and promoted to D1 for the first time, where I also won my first (and only) 2 matches !
So, shameless brag, sorry about that, but I really wanted to share

I'm not sure if any of my fellow FIFA 19 novices are still around, but with the FIFA 20 demo (supposedly) launching tomorrow, it feels like a good time to finally bid farewell to FIFA 19.
I ended up playing 39 weekend leagues over the course of FIFA 19. Given I nervously entered my first unsure whether I'd win a game and last the weekend (see opening post), that's a telling sign of how addicted I became...
Well, obviously not that addicted, as after the 19th WL, I only played enough games each weekend to get six wins, Silver 3 and 1,000 WL points, which with Rivals games was usually enough to qualify me for the following weekend.
My overall record was almost exactly a 50% WL record, but over the last 10 WLs I was averaging 60%.
I confess I'm really looking forward to FIFA 20. The initial new pack-opening / squad-building is always fun, and from the reports of the gameplay changes, I'm hopeful that my play style may be more rewarded.
So if any novices from this thread are around in the next iteration of the game, then I hope to see you on the other side...
Go well one and all - thanks for your support and encouragement over the past year.
