I know you won’t bench any of Ziyech, Neres, Tadic and VD Beek for Promes, but why buy a player of 15 mil and bench him. Or maybe that’s just what we’ve become, wich is a good thing

I'd say because at that time chances were pretty big that Ziyech or Neres were going to be sold.

Happy with the result but shocking to see how much space there is between midfield and defense when being countered.

We started early this season because of the qualifiers, it’s better to have a replacement ready to play incase one of Ziyech, Tadic, Neres of vd Beek leaves.

I’m not sure you realise that we’ve learned from our mistakes in the past. There have been times where we did not do this, and everyone freaked out because we didn’t find a replacement in time.

It honestly all seemed pretty logical to me tbh.

Martinez is too good to bench, but too small to play as a CB.

What about putting him as a defensive midfielder, a Kanté type? He’s fast, aggressive and can pass a ball...

I'm still waiting for proof o the too small thing. Hasn't been beaten by header or phyical duels yet.
Thought he did great versus Akpom for example.

Akpom won every long ball that went to him

You just can’t be a 1.70m defender in the CL...

A certain 1,76 meter defender is a World Cup and Ballon d'Or winning captain ;)

Blind is only 2cm taller tho, and he worked fine.

Yeah, but he had someone called de Ligt next to him...

Well it could work, I just don’t see Martinez against a Diego Costa type of striker. He’d work fine against the Aguero’s of this world

    Yes that’s correct

All the videos I’ve seen makes him look good. But want a personal one

    Feyenoord, Sparta or Excelsior hmmm

But for real tho, there are no Sparta fans here. Dervisoglu seems like a decent talent but hasn’t proved himself in the Eredivisie yet, so hard to tell.

Didn’t know there was 3 teams with Rotterdam in their name :hushed:

Will be keeping an eye out for the games and watching them to see how well he does

Scored a good goal last weekend. How come you only get him in January though? Seems like a bit of a weird deal.
