    The result yes I meant no shame in losing to Bayern... A team like Ajax will never be happy in defeat especially such a humbling defeat

    Things have quickly turned bad at the club. An embarrassing defeat and now the former manager coming out to attack the new regime.

    Yes @Stlducks - this actually helps me a lot. Because, as the article suggests, the Van Gaal Group is stepping up its game in the projected rivalry with the Cruijff Estate. So, factions are taking sides (Ajax Life is the mag for the official Ajax Fan Association AFCA). Great! Thanks!

    Coming up is the game against AZ, who are also having ups and downs....

    It is good for the club to come out and support the manager like that. You are still level on points at the top, even with a few bad performances.

    Such a crazy time around the club right now. Hopefully this feud doesn’t tear the club down just as it seems to be building itself back up.

    Looks like you found a good medium for your settings though.

    @Stlducks @Wyojasond - yes, indeed. At this stage heavier than expected. Especially to keep the backdoor shut. It's like early F1 Codemasters games where no matter how quick you were, the AI had a comeback.dll which guaranteed they'd catch up with you. And the same seems here in FIFA now: when you're down or level, you score relatively easily. But when you're up front the AI suddenly gets better.

    Not complaining, because it gives me opportunities for making a story, but noteworthy nonetheless.

    Or am I the only one?

    Abe Lenstra was The Big Dutch Football Star before there was Johan Cruijff;
    Born and bread at SC Heerenveen, post-war Dutch football was all about this man.

    Going through a bit of a rough spell right now, especially the last 2 games. A late equaliser to rescue the game and the last one is a disappoint draw with the opponents scoring late, too many goals conceded as of late. As for the Bayern result well I think an expected defeat was coming but to crumble in the final 30 and concede that many is worrying. Now talks about a takeover or something, Cruijff needs to see this through I think and stick to what he believes in and the results will follow

    Disappointing to only steal a draw against Benefica. The return leg game with them could easily be for second in the group. Team needs to find its identity a bit again after a tough run of games.

    Draw with Benfica could make qualification difficult later in the Tournament. Van Gaal is definitely after the Ajax job but the team haven't been dreadful the targets are still open

    Things are looking worse and worse at the club. A string of draws being put together and the result is the club bring in second place. A few wins in a row will change everything around the grounds.

    Another tough draw. PSV with a 4 point lead already is a bit disconcerting. Hopefully the defense can tighten up soon

    There's too much noise around the team and the team suffer the consequences. PSV keep growing and the team feel doubts... November will be a key month as Ajax can't drop more points at the Eredivisie and the European future will be decided too.

    The team had a poor October so lets have a great November to make up for it still in touching distance of the title

    Yeah pretty poor October really, last two 2-2 draws are disappointing. Benfica getting the draw away from home is a big result in the group for them especially. They may make 2nd place now if you cannot go out and get a big result against them away or Bayern.

    @subpop @JoshDFC @Wyojasond @Chris

    Indeed. It is a real life conflict: is Ajax turning to an ice-cold business model, just to be able to re-enter the top 20 of the UEFA Coefficient List, or is Ajax sticking to its traditional forte and hoping for an occasional miracle?

    Just noticed I didn't shuffle the teams in the right order in the last Eredivisie standings: corrected.
