Recently I switched from Talktalk 75mb broadband to 200mb virgin media. The issue I have is the immense lag i get across all games now which I never had previously. So disappointed in this set up so far.

Even on Call of duty I get 3 bars which is unheard of when I had Talktalk.

Is there a gaming mode on vm routers?

VM has repeatedly said in the past their service isnt designed for gaming, just plug it in into google to see countless threads across countless sites saying how awful the lag is

Gaming (including FIFA) and Virgin Media has previously been known to be problematic as @Azof said.

    Can you cancel?

The 14 day window has passed. Yeah read upon it. Jfc i messed up.

My only other option is to buy another router as the issue is with HUB 3.0.

    I've got virgin 350,

I use the Hub in modem mode and a mesh system for the router and access points

I don't have any problems with lag

I have VM 200mb fibre and i very rarely get lag.

Try an Ethernet cable if possible, it mad a huge difference for me.

As discovered previously it's almost pot luck..

I was with BT (meant to be very good) and I couldn't even play a game online due to the lag.
Switched to VM 2/300 mbps (FTTH) and now I get no lag whatsoever

Same experience as me, BT was literally unusable, Sky wasn’t any better, VM saved the day:

Specific locations get better internet on other suppliers. Do your research asking around in the area. Talk talk is 90% the worst internet in uk but it randomly becomes brilliant in Exeter.

    Kind of sorted it out.

Changed few settings and put it in game mode. Would be ok for fifa etc but any fast paced shooter game and you can notice the tiny fraction of delay

Glad the Internet issue was solved for Fifa, but if ur still having delay issues on FPS games could it be that your current gaming set up is causing some of the problems?

Like are you using a TV or a Gaming Monitor @Blarix?

Yup, ping is a ❤️❤️❤️❤️ nightmare on it, fortnite is unplayable unless I plug an Ethernet in.

For the first 14 months I was with them it was pretty good now it’s gone to ❤️❤️❤️❤️.
