Truly terrible and scary news, this was an official EA event.

Apparently there's been 4 dead and 11 injured, according to witnesses there was no security at all at the place. There's footage going about on twitch/reddit/etc but not putting it up here.

Seen the clip, wouldn’t recommend it. Truly heartbreaking. Have they caught the ❤️❤️❤️❤️ that done it?

Please don’t post videos/clips of the stream on here nor do we want pages and pages of debate on gun control as the FIFA forums aren’t the place for this.

If you want to pay your respects then of course do so.

    Apparently he killed himself

Quite horrible, apparently he had lost a game and came back and shot the place up. However, this is just going to turn into a gun debate. Should probably be locked IMO.

Apparently he's among the reported dead. Killed himself it seems.

The tournament was over 2 days and it was already getting heated yesterday, here's a clip from yesterday (it's safe)

Morbid watching the video from Twitch. You can even see the red dot at one point.

There needs to be a discussion, with current gun laws innocent people are being killed like flies.

I agree, however, the FIFA forums are not the place.

As ha just said a discussion on a xbox fifa forum isnt the place. Internet debates accomplish nothing

He is the victim in the video, he's playing a game and you can see a red dot suddenly appear on his shirt, then shots are heard.

This. Undoubtedly nothing will happen as a result of this though, sadly.

On another side bet certain elements of the media try to blame gaming.

    RIP.

Very scary that security was so poor. EA should have prevented this. Mad.

The video from twitch is messed up. Even though you don't see any actual shooting you just hear the sheer panic . The first two shots it seems no one even paid attention than you hear the screams

I agree on the lack of security but you can’t blame EA for a nationwide gun problem

RIP to all the victims. No-one should ever go to play a video game and never return home.

As others have said, please don’t speculate/identify the perputrator of this horrible act. This is not the place for that sort of thing. Let’s keep this thread to simply paying respects to the victims.

I believe it was an EA-Sponsored event if i'm not mistaken. They must shoulder some responsibility to ensure that the event is secured either by themselves, or the hosts that they hand-picked.

It was an EA sponsored event but their competitive scene took a weird direction this year, they have a lot of LANs now to qualify and dont cover for expenses of anybody, you also had to pay about $100 to play and the prize money was very low or something. I remember reading some complaints back when it was announced

Sickening, the stuff the people that were there must've been going through.

They'll never get over that either, RIP those that are died, more lives have been ruined than just that, families, friends, people who will never get the images out of their heads etc.
