Mertens v Sms

Looking at buying one for cam.

Anybody tried one at cam to help me?

Probably Mertens would be better, SMS bit too clunky for that position, but it does depend on your style of play.

Do prefer the pacier player at cam but sms card just looks insane

Loved SMS at cam. Shields ball, makes great passes, and is tall so he can square up with first time shots at all angles. Would suggest engine on him.

But depends, if you like quicker guys that can get around defenders easier and dont mind giving up strength and height go with mertens.

I got Icardi after already having Immobile and play 4231 so switched SMS to CDM and he is amazing on defense. Tried Pjanic, SMS and Icardi all at cam and they all had pluses and minuses. I ended up going with Icardi only because my CDMs needed the upgrade.

They are literally polar opposites but both immense in different ways. What’s the rest of your team?

Agree. I had mertens at lcam and he’s one of the best players I’ve used there. Once you get over the fact he’s weak as anything his dribbling, finesse shots and finishing in general is brilliant. Plus you need that pace on your wide cams

Outside cam 100% mertens. Middle cam would be a toss up based on your play style
