It’s always ‘sense of humour’ when it fails miserably.

Today I have seen a video of a bar in Sweden celebrating Mandzukic goal. I have seen a video of an Irish song going viral called ‘it’s not coming home’ and I have seen various Irish, Welsh and Scottish posts on Facebook absolutely delighted about Croatia progressing.

I have now seen the video of the Columbians shared on Facebook. There are probably many other nations who I haven’t seen celebrating the ‘loss’ of England. So act precious, behave like arrogant morons and self-righteous egomaniacs all you want; just don’t come sobbing uncontrolllably when the entire planet rejoices at your predictable elimination.

It will be the same every major tournament though and fans will never learn. The arrogance is rife.

You're literally proving Lineker's point about non-English fans completely missing the irony about 'Its coming home'.

Even when it's explained you still can't see it. Either that or you have a seperate issue with England/English people and are purposely ignoring the facts because it's a nice stick to try and beat people with.

Probably less than 1% of English people actually thought we were going to win it, but for once we were on a nice roll and we enjoyed it.

Saying "It's coming home" was ironic, satirical, a joke, whatever, doesn't lessen the annoyance it caused.

Call it what you want, its English humour that foreigners have clearly missed. If you don't like it then remember in 4 years time to mute 'Its coming home' on twitter and stay clear of English speaking messageboards such as this one.

You'll then find it isn't been rammed down your throat like you think it is.

It seems to me everyone just loves to hate on the English cause we are one of the best and most important nations inside and outside of the world of football.

It kills the Scottish and Welsh particularly knowing they border us yet are completely irrelevant inside and outside of the footballing world, yet their neighbouring England are essentially the most important country on the planet.

I do think it's funny that y'all are so hurt over the backlash (and enjoyment in some of the world) over Englands ousting.

And whenever people explain why, your response is "we don't care what you think".
    LOL.

Yeah, they don't care but they now hate Modric and root for France, just because Modric said reading the English media motivated the Croatian team. He wasn't referring to fans singing it's coming home but to things luke calling the Croatian team "the walking dead"

I don’t care who wins, just hope it’s a good match.

As for the idea that we hate Modric. If that is the case there’s an old saying here that the only thing worse than a bad looser is a bad winner. Nothing to do with sour grapes on our part. The general consensus here is we deserved to lose.

I wonder if these people even realise how pathetic it is to be celebrating an England semi final defeat when their own country isn't good enough to even qualify. It's actually funny. It's a bit like Rochdale fans celebrating and mocking Man City for losing in the Champions League.

I'm sure it's not what everyone in England thinks but people tend to get general ideas from what they read in the media. And I'm actually pretty happy your media did this if this gave additional motivation to Croatian team :)

Love how all the English fans are trying to pretend that shoving “it’s coming home” down everyone’s throats was “just banter”. Yes maybe after the first game it was but as soon as they saw their knockouts draw they got super arrogant and basically acted like getting to the final was a foregone conclusion and that was deadly serious! You can try and pretend now that you have been sent home with your tails between your legs but everyone else knows the truth.

Here is a little tip for you, if you want other teams fans to respect you and not hate you, then try acting with dignity and humility and stop deliberately trying to wind people up to antagonise them and then say “ohh it was just a bit of banter”.

You know I look at it like this. I don’t find Frankie Boyle funny. Loads of people do but he’s just not my cup of tea. So what I do is choose not to listen/view him. I don’t insist it’s anything but humour just because I don’t find it funny.

I just don’t understand how it’s so hard to believe it’s satirical!

The way England celebrated after beating Colombia (without James!) by the skin of their teeth was pretty crummy. Imo Colombia would’ve beaten them with a game changer like James, which they desperately lacked that game. Argentina’s losses don’t look so bad all of a sudden, considering they lost to the two finalists lol

We celebrated winning a game? God forbid, how dare we.

Surely you can see the difference between celebrating with class and celebrating like you won the tournament with several games to play despite beating a team you were already favored to beat even before they lost their star player.

Columbia kicked and snarled and cheated their way through the entire game. To be honest, I’d have rubbed it in their faces even more. It took over four minutes between the award of the penalty and the taking of it, because of Columbia’s antics.

england elbowed, held players and eben wrote where colombias penalty takers shoot on a bottle given to pickford.

nevermind they tried to score a kickofd goal against croatia while they were celebrating the winner
