Its a clear joke based on previous tweets & its the sports bible, they are not even a huge media outlet so don't go saying "English media" as if the sports bible speaks for everyone.

Also its in referral to the tweets that last time England won the WC
1966 Real Madrid win Euro Cup
    Man City Win League
    Burnley win Euro place
    Chelsea finish 5th in league
    England Win World Cup

And thats why its a joke and the sports bible have come up with another one.

Three Lions itself was written as a satire, the guys who wrote it have been heavily in the press the last week or two and they admitted it themselves. You have to be quite out of touch to think that 99% of people were singing it seriously. I haven't never seen England go beyond a Quarter Final in my lifetime. We aren't a great football team, I think getting to the Semi Finals is a great achievement. I also think you don't understand a lot of these points because you aren't from here. Being favourites means nothing to us. In so many of the previous tournaments we have been favourites for the squad of players we've had, and it has counted for nothing. Realists in England know that we aren't a top team, and haven't been for a long time.

You would have thought the fact they are both comedians might have given people a clue as to the meaning of the song, they should spend less time googling about England fans and Media and more time googling who Frank Skinner is.

Not only was it written in satire, it was written for the 96 euros and the whole its coming home thing was a reference to the tournament being in england not us winning

I'm from Scotland so the media outlets are roughly the same.

So when we see half time in the semi final of France Belgium and they the start talking about England's game with Croatia the next day that is what annoys me and probably a few others from home nations.

When England are coming out for their second half and Neville says we should win we're the better side. That's the type of arrogance that annoys me.

I don't mind the England team they seem like good lads for the most part. But it's the way the media portrays them as world beaters after a penalty save against bacca which is annoying.

As for the it's coming home stuff I get the banter part but it seems like the wenger out stuff. For some people it's probably true and others it's banter

It's funny how some people are seething over this :D

I know mate, it makes me laugh, some people are taking it far too seriously, for most of us, the extra games England got to play just meant another sesh in the pub getting **** faced, then chucking a sickie the next day.

“Another sesh in the pub”, “getting **** faced”, “chucking a sickie the next day”.... grow up mate. Pretty much sums up the sadness of England fans if that’s what the WC is all about for them, trying to wind up and antagonise opposition fans and the whole we don’t care if nobody likes us attitude.

    What a complete tool :D

Was always going to lose once we faced a good team.

This time, we didnt face a good team til the semis. We coulda easily lost the Sweden game on another day.

Also, the setup of that England team is just awful. Alli left side of a midfield 3, Lingaard right side of the 3 and Hendo on his own as a cdm. Plus, the loyalty shown to Sterling was embarassing, he offered ZERO threat.

One of the strangest choices of formation ive ever seen and we were awful at keeping the ball once we were pressed.

It took 35-40 minutes for Croatia to figure us out. Once they did, there was only going to be one winner of that game.

England are still a long way off. It wont be coming home for a long time.

As a Spurs fan, i will happily watch Lloris or Modric lift the trophy.

Sterling caused defences endless problems the entire tournament, just a shame he couldn't cause the goalkeepers any. End product is horrendous. Alli was awful, RLC should've played the rest of the tournament after Alli took a knock. Thought Lingard was decent and Henderson was superb.

Love how all the English fans are trying to pretend that shoving “it’s coming home” down everyone’s throats was “just banter”. Yes maybe after the first game it was but as soon as they saw their knockouts draw they got super arrogant and basically acted like getting to the final was a foregone conclusion and that was deadly serious! You can try and pretend now that you have been sent home with your tails between your legs but everyone else knows the truth.

Here is a little tip for you, if you want other teams fans to respect you and not hate you, then try acting with dignity and humility and stop deliberately trying to wind people up to antagonise them and then say “ohh it was just a bit of banter”.

You can't win tournaments basing your play style on set pieces (unless you are Greece :)).
Hopefully Southgate learned something from that. Also, hopefully he learned that 3-5-2 doesn't work against teams with good wingers.
Otherwise, this semifinal will probably be his biggest success.

It’s always ‘sense of humour’ when it fails miserably.

Today I have seen a video of a bar in Sweden celebrating Mandzukic goal. I have seen a video of an Irish song going viral called ‘it’s not coming home’ and I have seen various Irish, Welsh and Scottish posts on Facebook absolutely delighted about Croatia progressing.

I have now seen the video of the Columbians shared on Facebook. There are probably many other nations who I haven’t seen celebrating the ‘loss’ of England. So act precious, behave like arrogant morons and self-righteous egomaniacs all you want; just don’t come sobbing uncontrolllably when the entire planet rejoices at your predictable elimination.

It will be the same every major tournament though and fans will never learn. The arrogance is rife.

Literally no-one cares that anyone’s glad we are out. We merely tried to point out what the ‘its Coming home’ thing was all about.

You decided to ignore the facts behind it because it doesn’t suit your agenda, that’s also fine. We’re not the ones being precious here.
