England are the Millwall of International football. No one likes us, we really don't care. In fact, we enjoy it. Hate all you like, most football loving Englishmen have had one of the best summers we've had for quite some time whilst everyone else has sat there miserable as anything absolutely fuming we're enjoying ourselves.

All that matters is the country enjoys it tbh.. I can't say what has made me more proud.. How triggered everyone seems to get about the 'It's coming home' banter or how well England actually did for once.

Why would you be proud about triggering other people?

And England didn’t exactly do well did they? They got knocked out in the semis by the first average side they played after beating the dog & duck in previous games :joy:

Didn't exactly do well? 4 teams out of 32 didn't get to the Semi's.

Spouting nonsense as if getting to a semi-final of any competition is an easy feat

It can be an easy feat depending on the circumstances. Or should be, anyway.

Being the last 4 in any major competition is not easy whatsoever.

In Englands case, either you are underestimating the teams they have come up against or you are overestimating how good they are

Yeah calling England ❤️❤️❤️❤️ in one sentence then saying we had it easy playing ❤️❤️❤️❤️ teams in the next doesnt make sense to me, surely if we are one of the ❤️❤️❤️❤️ teams then we have done well to beat other equally ❤️❤️❤️❤️ teams to get there.

Because other people don't understand English humour or banter at all.. We like to have a luagh over here even if we are the but of our own jokes.. Who cares as long as people are having fun. We ARE having fun still even now we are knocked out. Its not our fault as a country that people take it the wrong way but in England we love a good wind up of people.. And to see how wound up people have got over something as pathetic as 'It's coming home' is just hilarious to me. People need to get more of a life IMO.

Also after 20 years of nothing from England but constant disappointment making the semi's is a HUGE step in the right direction.. So why shouldn't we enjoy it?

Funny how when we don't perform and lose to the likes of Iceland everyone mocks England and its fans, then when we get to the Semi's with a young squad the same people still find a way to have a pop.

It has nothing to do with 'its coming home', people just don't like England. Peroid.

Thats fine, btw, but don't pretend its anything else like arrogant fans or a funny slogan. Its your personal dislike of an entire country and its people.

Maybe for teams like Panama but for England. Considering the lack of "Quality" teams getting knocked out every day.

When you put the mentality of losing or drawing a match to get an easier road to the final your bound to lose big.

Teams that England beat at this World Cup:-

Don’t get me wrong, I think England had a decent tournament but based on the opposition they faced and their road to the final, it has to be classed as another failure.

I like how people get all uppity about how England only got to the semis because we supposedly had an easy route, but don't mention that Croatia are in the final due to having an easy group (even Argentina were awful) and making hard work of beating three average teams in Denmark Russia and England in the knockout rounds.

    Easy group hahahaha

Before the WC, group was called group of death, probably toughest one in whole WC so shut your mouth.

You are trying to undermine Croatia success, they looked more fresh after players 240 mins in last two games and even went to play another 120 mins.

    1 shot on target.

    Denmark, Russia and England average?

Denmark haven't lost in 18 games, last two years without defeat including game against France and whole qualifiers.

Russia boosted by playing on home turf, went 0-1 and Croatia bounced back.

"so shut your mouth" How old are you, 9? :D

A "group of death" with Iceland, Nigeria and a one man Argentina team who's one man didn't turn up? Terrifying. I'd say Germany and Brazil's groups were stronger.

Think you'll find that actually Denmark lost two qualifiers and finished behind Poland, and Russia were the lowest ranked side in the competition. Then you had perennial also-rans England who had been in as many semi finals in the last 50 years as South Korea. If that's not an extraordinarily favourable route to a world cup final I don't know what is. Only Germany in 2002 have ever had an easier draw.

And people go on about England only getting to the semi because we played the very decent Colombia and a Sweden team that finished top of a group including Germany and Mexico, and in qualifying they eliminated both Netherlands and Italy - yet you're unable to acknowledge that Croatia have also had the benefit of a favourable draw to make the final.

My experience is no matter how good England do or bad England do, or if the fans are happy and celebrating or are quiet and humble, you will always have that collection of pathetic losers who like to gang up and hate on England.

It's best just to ignore these losers, they don't mean anything and their opinions mean nothing in the end. When you are happy they are mad, when you were sad they are happy.

Why? You were comfortable favourites every game, except for the Croatian one, for which you were still favourites albeit not by a huge margin.

The ultimate value of getting to the semi-final doesn't change, because a semi-final is a semi-final. But your road there was almost pathetically easy, and you're not going to convince me otherwise. Your squad was good - not kidding - yet rolled over at the first sign of good opposition.

I'd genuinely be disappointed considering you're never going to have this amount of fortune in a WC ever again. Reaching the semis with this squad should've been and was a formality.

Was such a formality to beat a Colombia side that again won their group including taking Poland to absolute pieces
Not to mention that we hardly rolled over, if the ball hadn't taken the most miraculous deflection off of Subasic to somehow go over the bar then we would have been 2 up and probably go on to win the game

You were horrendous, having the quality to do much, much better than what was shown.

Sweden were the only team to lose to Germany in that group, so I don't see how that holds much value. Besides, beating us in the group stage wasn't exactly a massive achievement considering we are actually terrible.

Colombia missed their star player, and without him they are simply a bang average side that was in absolute headloss from start to finish.

Your team is better than both Italy and Holland. Especially Holland, we have a bang average side nowadays. Both nations were rightfully mocked for months after being knocked out by Sweden, which shows enough. They may be a shadow of their former selves but it should never have been allowed to happen.

whilst I am happy with our performance due to being awful in the Euros 2 years ago, it is undeniable that we had a relatively easy run to the semi finals, and tbh the main contributor to my disappointment was knowing this was such an unbelievable chance to get to a world cup final. That is not disrespectful in any way to Croatia (whose media actually behaved in a far more overconfident way than we did, if people didn't just rush to bash England at every chance), who are a class team.

Also it is not exactly bottling it if we have a midfield of Henderson, Lingard and Alli (who has been struggling all tourney) against Modric, Rakitic and Brozovic.
