So everyone in the whole nation is ignorant.. wow..

I mean all i did was sing along to a song that was released as the official England song of Euro 96 which was written by 2 famous English comedians.. But i guess that makes me ignorant to everyone elses feeling.. No-one should celebrate anything because it hurts other peoples feeling.

People need to grow up.. there are a long bigger issues in this world that a couple of English lads having some banter.. like grow up and move on.

I also love how our fans are claimed to be aggressive vandals etc.. Anyone seen France last night.

I think people are just truly seeing British humour and how we can make a joke of ourselves. With the massive boom in social media and being able to see news from all round the world with videos etc its one of the first times people have seen England celebrating a world cup.. Acting like we don't joke about winning every tournament out country has ever entered..

Just a shame people have taken what has made our country so happy this summer and turned it sour by other countries getting involved in something that TBH has no relevance to them or their country..

    Uh...

I mean from the sense of the rest of the world seeing/being involved in us celebrating not that its our first time competing. Everyone in England was chanting 'it's coming home' as a bit of banter but everyone else just seems to have turned it into 'lets hate on England'

Its like when Burnley were top of the league 2/3 weeks into the season and the fan's where chanting that they were going to win the league.. They clearly weren't going to but they could make a joke out of it..

Just English humour that a lot of the world are seeing for the first time and taking it as arrogant. I think a lot of English people live by "if you can't laugh at yourself then who can you laugh at?'' sort of mentality.

When i was abroad travelling pretty much everyone when you spoke about British travelers would say ''They just make a joke of everything, even some times really inappropriate but still funny''

Yep, although I think a lot of people know it was a joke but want to bash the English so carry on like it was serious.

People believe whatever suits their narrative.

Yeah i 100% agree - I've seen people on here joining in to them later bash England about it. Not sure why we always get so much hate but i guess its a English forum so its mainly English speaking people here.. USA have nothing to bash so it then turns to England.

People trying to tell me our team sucks like i'm not already very much aware of that!!

oh yeh we couldn't deal with good teams thats why the only one we played with our first team, we took to extra time
people acting like we got done 4-0 in that final and are incapable of beating the top tier teams
maybe we wouldn't beat them in succession but in a one off game we are definitely good enough to have a shot at beating anyone

Lost to Belgium twice, lost to Croatia, drew with Colombia.
how have the mods not stopped this blatant baiting

    How is it baiting?

I’m stating facts: England lost twice to Belgium, lost to Croatia and drew with Colombia.

And giving my opinion: England did not have a great World Cup, they had the easiest route of all time to the final, got overconfident and blew it.

Did he say first team did you ignore it completely? Save me the response as the answer is yes. Cant believe this thread is still going and apologise for continuing it but we gave it a go lost to a good team with a young team and im happy with that sorry for offending people with that viewpoint.

We have different opinions on this. We will just have to agree to disagree.
