If you look at the keeper who is waiting to the side they are often consulting notes that were in their sock

and the kickoff goal???? lack of class mate. trying to score when the opponent is celebrating.

it screams desperationbecause they cant score a clear cut goal from open play!

Lol or they were just trying to think outside the box, like when Henry and Pires tried that penalty and failed.

So many anti English people on these forums.

The truth of the matter is that England would have been eliminated from the tournament the moment they faced a good team.

We just didn't face a good team until the semis.

The whole "it's coming home" movement was cringeworthy and just another sign of how deluded and stupid the majority of our fan base are.

Do not be arrogant and ignorant towards smaller nations, such as Croatia. This will be used against you in the pre-match team talk. Do not be a bad winner and you will not suffer the criticism when your eventual loser status becomes reality.

    Fixed for you.

People on here just don’t see how disingenuous they are being. Does every team not go into a game thinking they can win it? Do you not look at the side on paper and think if all goes to plan we should beat them? Don’t you think this is what the French are thinking today. Don’t you think they are glad it’s not Brazil or Germany they’re facing and that this is a really good chance to win again?

We all know it’s football and anything can happen but every nation does this and anyone who says different is deluded. The only difference here is that it’s England and whatever our team or fans do is reported around the world. I couldn’t even tell you how the fans in Japan were reacting to their qualification out of the group because it wasn’t wall to wall coverage of that here.

We didn’t look past Croatia, we honestly felt we could beat them but knew it was a tough test and when we didn’t there were no excuses from us, we accept it and move on. Our fans were well behaved this time too, so maybe the foreign press had to latch onto something else because they couldn’t bleat on about that.

I can’t believe this thread is still going. People are so envious of England’s invention of the game of football. The hate will never go away.

It’s always ‘sense of humour’ when it fails miserably.

Today I have seen a video of a bar in Sweden celebrating Mandzukic goal. I have seen a video of an Irish song going viral called ‘it’s not coming home’ and I have seen various Irish, Welsh and Scottish posts on Facebook absolutely delighted about Croatia progressing.

I have now seen the video of the Columbians shared on Facebook. There are probably many other nations who I haven’t seen celebrating the ‘loss’ of England. So act precious, behave like arrogant morons and self-righteous egomaniacs all you want; just don’t come sobbing uncontrolllably when the entire planet rejoices at your predictable elimination.

It will be the same every major tournament though and fans will never learn. The arrogance is rife.

Literally no-one cares that anyone’s glad we are out. We merely tried to point out what the ‘its Coming home’ thing was all about.

You decided to ignore the facts behind it because it doesn’t suit your agenda, that’s also fine. We’re not the ones being precious here.

I still think a fair few thought it was coming home to be fair

Thought or hoped? Surely nobody with any sense thought we had a team good enough?

Must be it. People HATE that England invented football. It's funny how quick this thread changed to "Poor us. Everyone hates on us".

The Chinese claim of inventing football holds more water I’m afraid.

The Chinese or Ancient Greek invented football. England are not even part of the question.

Again, the ignorance of a nation to attempt claim to the invention of a sport in which they were factually years behind, is somewhat typical of a nation built on a culture of arrogance.

Pretty sure they were the first to write down the rules of football and have them "officialised", though.

It sort of does if that becomes a game played by the whole world and by your rules. You obviously have a distaste for the English and that is your right. Where are you from? Did we conquer your country at some point?

It’s called a joke and yes it sums all of this up perfectly because we have a sense of humour and others appear to have inferiority complex

Can you stop.. You are just bitter that your country isn't playing in 10 minutes. Deal with it. Good for you that a English person 'invented' the game of football. Unless it was your great great grantfather i kind of think claiming dominance isn't the right move. Enjoy the final.

I’m not bitter at all that we aren’t in the final because I didn’t ever think our team was good enough to get there. I don’t take football seriously but what I don’t like is all the hate from people about us enjoying our World Cup experience. It’s misinformed and irritating but I do acknowledge you are entitled to your opinion.
