Teams that England beat at this World Cup:-

Tunisia
Panama
Columbia (on pens)
Sweden

Don’t get me wrong, I think England had a decent tournament but based on the opposition they faced and their road to the final, it has to be classed as another failure.

Not failure, just nothing special. Would be impressive if they beat Belgium, France, Brazil etc in knock-out stage.

Had it in their own hands in the 1st half as well
    I sadly predicted 1-2

Well, by looking at how early they have gone out in the last couple of tournaments this must surely count as a victory for English football?

They practically handed the trophy to them, concidering England HAS France whenever they play in WCs or Euros

They made it worse for themselves with all the it’s coming home nonsense in full over dramatic flow. Fans got way too arrogant and cocky as usual. I’m more annoyed that I spelt Colombia wrong :joy:

    1. Germany knocked out by South Korea
    2. Spain knocked out by Russia
    3. Italy didn’t even qualify
    4. Netherlands didn’t even qualify
    5. England knocked out by Croatia

We’ve failed but does it mean we’re better than these lot? If it does, then I’ll take it.

We’ve had some fun with the coming home thing but seriously, that’s all it was. I guarantee you probably less than 1% of the country actually thought we’d win the whole thing.

But you'll take the easiest run to the semi's and a probable 4th place finish. Nice

England WC winners in 66. What makes 50 years different to 4 or 8? Both of those sides were better than this England but they arent now so what the hell has that got to do with it? Spain have only won 1 WC and could very well struggle to do so again just like England have. Nature of football.

    'Some fun' ?

Man in the last week all you could watch, read, or listen to from english people was 'it's coming home' and stuff.

And you lost to a better team, not a team that played better.

    A better team.

Still if you keep it together and low key, you have some players that can make the difference in the coming Int.Comps.

I only felt sorry for Kane, he was the only one serious among your team.

Same BS as usual. England fans actually tried to show an ounce of humility and had some reservations before the WC started but as soon as they saw the knockouts draw they started acting like arrogant self entitled muppets as per usual.

As an example look at how the Wales fans conducted themselves when they got to the semi finals of the Euros, no expectations, no arrogance, respect and full of praise. England could learn how to behave from them.

Yes it was fun, it wasn’t serious. You may not have found it fun but we’re all different.

The way England celebrated after beating Colombia (without James!) by the skin of their teeth was pretty crummy. Imo Colombia would’ve beaten them with a game changer like James, which they desperately lacked that game. Argentina’s losses don’t look so bad all of a sudden, considering they lost to the two finalists lol

Surely you can see the difference between celebrating with class and celebrating like you won the tournament with several games to play despite beating a team you were already favored to beat even before they lost their star player.

What I referenced was modern football, come the next euros Spain and Germany will be amongst the favorites and England will be around 6-10th. And I didn't include Italy in 06

But if you ask any fan if they take a World Cup win in 2018 and get knocked out the group stage in the next two I know what they would say.

So no England aren't better than those lot
