Just a s**t show for me for me this week in WL, I'm like 4 and 9 now, can't defend anyone. Giving up 3+ goals most every game and it doesn't matter what I do. Been switching between my teams, switching up CT's/Player instructions, doesn't matter.

Balls getting pinged in right through 2-3 defenders to their striker who turns and finishes, rebounds, deflections, back post headers, I can't stop a thing.

Need some tips cause nothing is working right now

First thing you need to do is fake a cdm or someone not in the back 4 and try to cut out passing lanes. Use your second man press to drag a player to the ball holder. Once you have passing lanes secure you can switch to ball holder defender. Dont run right at him though, bait him into making a quick pass by stepping up, but then back off into passing lanes. Do this to lull him to sleep, then when you see a good time when the balls in front of him, step up and poke it out with B or make a slide tack if you can predict what he's about to do but cant get their for standing.

Easiest mistake to capitalise on is him sprinting. Whenever I see the ball away from the players body I immediately get in between his body and the ball or slide tackle if I can beat him to the ball but cant stand tackle.

Also another trick ive seen pros use is switch to a defender and manually drag him to ball holder, as soon as he gets in position switch to a defender to cut pasding lanes but at the same time press secondary press button so man keeps running at him. Also try to never use the contain button, its not needed. Just let him make the move first and then react, only try to guess his move if you think you can level him better than he can you.

Also, you want to be goal side as much as possible (in between him and goal). You want to prevent passes into or in front of the box at all costs. Even when he gets outside, you know he's going to cut in at some point.

    1. track runs . It's What we do first when attacking, is try to send a runner through so it's always first priority

    2. Don't be aggressive in his half use that time to get a midfielder to his strikers. Team mate contain ball carrier wisely then when attackers are blocked snatch the ball using L1 PLAYER CHANGE

    3. If you always send a tmc player to ball carrier, opposition will cop on to this so what I do is pressure ball carrier manually but decide where he will pass ( normally only two passes on in general ANYWAY and most people will go centre of pitch ) as I'm running to him il change to player just below/ above on my screen and block pass. That's if opponent is good and does not panic with ai controlled players pressuring him .

4 . If you see a opposition player pass the ball towards the top or bottom of your telly to a midfielder next pass is always towards your goal so when you see that pass use right stick and block strikers. You will be be there before the second pass after a bit of practice.

That's all I have for you. From a person that got 22 points in div 1 on 2 occasions! . So my advice could be worthless also lol

The best thing is to pull midfielders and defenders back and jockey. If you rush in with a tackle be prepared to quickly switch to a nearby player to cover in case you miss the tackle. Sometimes you just need to back off and let the AI take half chances from distance. If you defend aggressively they will skin you and get in the box or pass the ball around until they get a better shot on goal.

R1/RB I think. I swap my contain with second man press in customs so it's A for me. If you don't, you will have to press sprint with your middle finger and it feels weird for me.

I am very bad at defending, normally conceding on kinds of goals (from headers to long shots etc.), wandering between div 3 and div 4 for last 30 seasons (I am a bit better on attacking and my squad is godly).

For the last few days I have tried the old trick as some of you mentioned earlier, using CDMs or CMs to cover in the middle and in front of goal + using 2nd man press button nearly all the time, seldom touch CBs, and if opponents play wide, just try to move CMs and CDMs in the middle of the box + 2nd man press for fullbacks or CBs to press the opponent wingers. It seems to be working fine as I am now in div 2.
