91 Matthaus or 90 Rijkaard?

Planning out my post Tots team and am in need of an Icon LB for chemistry.
Don’t know if it will affect your decision but I’ll be playing 4-3-3 (4) and will have my wing backs set to conservative interceptions and stay back. I like to keep my defence defending haha

Would also like to mention my budget is 350k so would only be base Carlos

I prefer Carlos as I like my full backs to attack, but it sounds like Maldini would be perfect for you.

88 Maldini is excellent for what you need just put engine on him

I’ve used Carlos, petit & maldini, petit was ok, just didn’t get on with maldini and Carlos has been in my team for ages now. I’ve got him set to stay back and he seems to be there when I need him but also still joins in with attacks.

Right, I think I'm going to go with Maldini as he sounds more suitable for me from your opinions.

Just realized that 91 Matthaus is about the same as prime Rijkaard and I would like some opinions on both, I've always wanted Matthaus but I've heard a lot of good reviews about Rijkaard. They'd be playing CM in the 4-3-3 (4) as per, but they'd be set to stay back and defend whilst the other 2 midfielders would be more attacking.

Matthaus better as a CM, Rijkaard the better CDM.

Havent tried Matthaus but Rijkaard is fantastic at cdm.

Rijkaard is very good at cdm, ok as a cm and horrible as cb (prime version).

I used prime rijkaard as CDM for over 200 games and he was a beast

Now i switched to 3atb and i use him as the central CB and he is godly(on 7 chem)

CM definitely 10000% Matthaus and I had both in my team.

91 Matthaus is really good. I switched him for 88 Vieira but preferred Matthaus so switched it back

I have put Frank back at CDM. He is immense in that position.
