Logic behind skipping cutscenes/replays?

With goals it is the one who scores that decides whether to keep watching and at half time both need to press something, but is there any system behind the other cutscenes? After a foul, you see the ref walking yet often his decision (yellow/red) get skipped even when you don't press a button. The opening scene before kickoff is sometimes directly skipped yet other times basically mandatory to watch it all. Same with offside and missed chances.

It’s to show off their engine and make it look realistic.

In reality it’s a waste of time and frustrating

    In my experience:

Opening scenes - both players must press X
    Substitutions - both

Yellow/red cards - team which got fouled

    Offside - defending team

    Missed shots - attacking team

Goalkicks, freekicks, throw-ins - team in possession

Replay of goal scored EARLIER in the match - team that conceded

Opening scenes is whoever has kick off, not home or away.
