Embarrassing for the Bundesliga

So at halftime in the most watched game in Bundesliga between arguably the two best teams in the Bundesliga of the last couple of years it's Bayern Munich - Borussia Dortmund 5:0. Yes, that's right. 5:0. At halftime.

As a German, I feel embarrassed. This sort of game should be an advert for our league but it's the opposite. No competition in this league whatsoever. We're just another Scottish league at this point.

Sure, I still enjoy watching the Bundesliga and cheering on my team, and the fight for Champions League/Europa League and the relegation battle is great and mostly exciting but when there's one team that's so far ahead of anyone else and pretty much garantued to win the league before it's even started every goddamn year it's just terrible.

Won't even botter watching the second half.

most the top leagues have no competition at the moment... always one team running away with it and their oil money

Bayern made the right decision to send the Italian coach away and play more attacking football. The other clubs in Germany should learn from Bayern.

The difference is that it's only at the moment. ManCity in England, Barcelona in Spain, Juventus in Italy and PSG in France. BUT... just look at who won the league in the last couple of years in these leagues compared to the Bundesliga.

    England:
    Chelsea, ManCity, Leicester

    Spain:
    Atl. Madrid, Real Madrid, Barcelona

    France: Monaco just last season!

Italy: Juventus are sort of like Bayern but I feel like it's still more competetive. Juventus had a rough start to the season I believe and only bounced back recently.

I'm just so disappointed. We're favorites to win and defent the World Cup but to be honest, all our best players are by now either playing at Bayern Munich or abroad. I just want to see some competition, goddamnit!

His comment was based on those teams buying the league. Look at the players Barca have bought in recent seasons and how much they have spent.

If you look at the demebele and countinho situation and the majority of that is still covered by neymar fees.

Barca aint going out of their way to buy the league

The Bundes for me might be the most one sided big league in Europe, Ligue 1 is the other one sided league but even Monaco won the league last year

Wolfsburg won the league a few years ago, Dortmund as well.
Ligue 1 on the other hand just psg and once Monaco

Wasn't too long ago that Dormund could hold its own ground.. unfortunately when Hummels, Gündogan and Lewandowski went it all fell apart :/

I don’t even follow the results. I just assume Bayern won every game at least 3-0 like Celtic in Scotland. It’s bad enough they totally dominate, but normally for good measure they will buy the nearest competitors best player. Boring league am afraid.

We're just another Scottish league at this point.

This was probably more offensive to the Bundesliga than you even intended :joy:

Well yeah, that might be true. But I'm gutted. I'm sitting here on a saturday evening in front of my TV expecting to watch a good, entertaining and, most importantly, competetive match against the two best teams in Germany and then it's 5:0 at halftime. And it's not even that surprising that this happened.

I don't even support Bayern or Dortmund. Couldn't care less who wins. I just want to see some competition!

It's a tinpot league. You can predict its winner year after year. The next teams are playing 2nd fiddle. Batshuayi, couldn't do ❤️❤️❤️❤️ at Chelsea and benched him (if that) now look at what he's doing. Feel sorry for you man I'd try and stream some games across the other leagues and support your team still obviously but I can't imagine the games being an entertaining watch. I can promise Auba won't even finish on half of his goals next season than he did for Dortmund.

Big difference is bayern have built that history year on year. Clubs like psg and city are the problem. Average clubs who go way beyond there means. I will never get why neymar would leave barca for psg other than for pure greed.

Bang on. Neymar is a fool. Imagine a player of his quality playing in that league week after week. I bet he gets bored, it's like playing playground football for him.
