Will EA ever fix this issue with 41212(2)?
Too annoyed with CAM switching with RCM and CDM switching with LCM. So bad in game when my RCM FUTB Sissoko suddenly plays CAM for majority of the game with his 2* WF. Will they ever atleast acknowledge this issue.

Does it make a difference when building up play?
If you've set Build up play to free form, obviously! I would guess that the problem is 90% with your CTs. Taking a look at the following may help. It's worth looking at the whole thing, including the comment, imho.

It doesn't work as the position change doesn't stay permanent.
I agree to an extent...however when I push my original cam back to his position the rcm should also move to his original position which doesn't happen. The cam again moves to the cdm position somehow irrespective of the workmates or instructions.
Of course it does. Free form makes your players switch positions. It won't solve the problem completely but it will definitely keep your players more organized
The only thing I can think of is that you're pushing up with your mids thus the CAM is dropping back to cover, but I'm sure you'd realise if this was happening. Are your build up CTs conflicting with you chance creation ones?
When I get a problem like this I usually play offline and try some extreme settings, hopefully find a solution and then get back as far to "normal" as possible with the settings without the problem appearing again. I've learnt a lot that way.

If you would actually read all this it would finally make sense why this happens. Fulbacks swapping usually happens when one of them is taking a corner kick

otherwise thats a possibility. but most unlikly. i never use anything other that CT

It has been like this forever, Please don't ask for another patch because EA thinks they have fixed the game
I have read it, thanks! I use 352 and know exactly why and how my players swap positions and I am quite happy with it all.
What I can't know is what CTs and instructions the OP uses, but he didn't think his position swap issues were explained by the Reddit post I linked.
That'll simply be them covering for each other.
