How to win 50/50 challenges successfully most of the time?

This is one part I'm very bad at, I can read the pass and what player its going to. I can tackle but very rarely do I come away with the ball. I seem to tackle and it rebound to my opponent perfect for a goal scoring opportunity. This needs to be rectified! I've watched soo many YouTube videos and tactics following what they do but still it keeps going back to my opponent or my player runs into him. How do you guys actually take the ball away from the opponent and successfully keep possession?

I purposely went for these players as they have high aggression but I'm finding petit extremely clunky and Vieira getting pushed around buy the likes of Joe Allan (previous game). I'm just asking for tips really on how to effectively use them.

Now my defenders glitch everytime a through ball is played. Yet when I play a through ball my opponents defence stays solid! Why is this game so crap.

To be honest. I have absolutely no clue. But try using L2 more when you get in contact with the oponnent, together with the tackle button.
