Drag back help

All tutorials state that its R1 and left stick to perform drag back skill move...
However i have to hold L2 and R1 to do it. Any one know a solution to this? Even in the skill menu it says R1 only.

Question is how do you do it when it lags. My players keep stumbling everywhere.
