Not sure I'd rate Gomez above Keane right now. Keane is a decent centre back and probably a bit underrated. Gomez still makes quite a few errors. Mafdison should definitely be in midfield, but tbf tonight's team is very close to our best 11

Yeah it's very close, I'd argue two players away from our best XI (so almost full strength), but I can see your point regarding at CB. Can't wait to see this team play with Maddison instead of Barkley.

And I'm still yet to understand why Declan Rice seems to be so highly rated

One misplaced pass doesn't take away the fact that he had been excellent up until that point.

He's completely average and hasn't once had a good game in an England shirt

Couldn't disagree more. I think he's a very good defensive midfielder, and up until the misplaced pass today he had been excellent.

    Really good work from Barkley.

Because he was linked with United for awhile 🤷‍♂️

I personally don’t see the hype either, but still a young prospect so who knows.

Nothing to do with United. He's a really good defensive midfielder.

I love how nobody even tries to follow the rules when there's no VAR.

Nope never seen it either tbh.

    Solid but nothing amazing

Can’t believe people still don’t rate Sterling. He’s the only elite player in this team

Whenever I've watched him with West Ham he's been excellent but he's been poor for England so far. Maybe it's the setup or just pressure, either way he's not been the improvement on Dier we needed.

The same people that put him in the same bracket as Sancho

That's nitpicking a bit imo, Sancho is clearly quality as well, that doesn't mean they don't rate Sterling.

Sancho is good, but putting him in the same bracket as Sterling means they don’t rate him as highly as they should

I think AWB could end up taking the starting RB spot at some stage tbh, TAA is outstanding going forward but Southgate doesn't use his fullbacks the same way that Klopp does, I think AWB will be more suited for the way Southgate wants to play.

Come on Southgate... I love Mount but you have to give Maddison time someday.

It's ridiculous that Barkley still starts ahead of both of them.

What would people say England’s best XI is? Everyone seems to like the front three and Pickford normally turns it up for England, but there seems to be lots of debate about the other spots.

Everyone agrees that Barkley shouldn't be starting at least. :D

    Pickford

    Walker - Stones - Maguire - Rose

    Maddison - Winks - Delph

    Sancho - Kane - Sterling

    Winks? Really?

Seen some suggestions in XBCC to play TAA in midfield.

He's the only English player that has ability with his feet, fantastic work rate and loves a tackle. We need someone like that in the middle of the park.

That's probably my team too, although I can see Wan Bassaka being more useful in defense games. Although when RLC comes back he can offer something different to the midfield.
