Bit of a PR nightmare, don't you think Nem? Smells like Hoddle all over.

I don't think he would put up with ❤️❤️❤️❤️ tbh. If he was to get a role in the setup, think he'd be perfect for Southgate's job personally.

Nobody English is perfect for any job in management of an English national team

Not usually, but Nigel Pearson is an anomaly :3

I'll call time on following football if southgate ends up as the England manager

I have more family in Malta than the whole of the UK. Pretty damn happy with this group, marks the 20th anniversary of our last World Cup too. :')

Should be targeting 30 points from that group. Will probably do the classic "win at home, draw away" Roy Hodgson technique and scrape through on 20.

Nah, we'll win the easy away games (scotland) and possibly slip up in the more difficult ones (Malta) :p

Malta aren't quite as bad as you'd think. Italy only beat them 1-0 in Valletta.

We'll have to be careful picking our team for the trip to Scotland. Can't have Sterling or Wilshere getting attacked by SNP radicals.

I'm not saying they'll do anything against England but they're not San Marino.

    Agreed Tamer

We'll have to choose wisely and send men of character north of the border to take on the bravehearts

Goalkeepers: Joe Hart (Manchester City), Jack Butland (Stoke City), Tom Heaton (Burnley).

Defenders: Nathaniel Clyne (Liverpool), Luke Shaw (Manchester United), Kieran Gibbs (Arsenal), Gary Cahill (Chelsea), Chris Smalling (Manchester United), John Stones, Phil Jagielka (Both Everton).

Midfielders: Michael Carrick (Manchester United), James Milner (Liverpool), Ross Barkley (Everton), Jonjo Shelvey (Swansea), Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (Arsenal), Raheem Sterling, Fabian Delph (Both Manchester City), Ryan Mason (Tottenham).

Forwards: Wayne Rooney (Manchester United), Harry Kane (Tottenham), Jamie Vardy (Leicester), Theo Walcott (Arsenal).

Will update the OP when I get back tomorrow. Astounding how players like Mason, Gibbs and Vardy have managed to fraud their way into that... And isn't Delph injured?

That team looks appalling, but it's about right. The return of Welbz and Wilshere can't come quick enough.

Dier is a lumper, we've got enough talentless hacks in this squad.

Ox is incredibly lucky to even be in the squad, he should be nowhere near the first team.

Why would we not start our best CB?
And start two forwards who have amassed around 4 goals in their last 20 odd matches?

God no, Kane has been godawful since February. The best England striker should play off Rooney.

I will actually be pissed if Vardy doesn't get a good run in, in those fixtures. There's no excuse for it.
