Alexis Sánchez's wages are a matter of public interest. At £500k he is earning close to the weekly GDP of some countries. It is for this reason that every week we will be looking at his performances and determining if he's justified his pay or not.

Week 1

*Sanchez signed on the 22nd of January, today is the 31st. That is 10 days and thus his wages will be calculated to reflect that, meaning that as of today he has been paid £714k.

Games played:

Yeovil Town F.C. (19th in League Two)
Goals: 0
Assists: 1
Result: WIn

Tottenham Hotspur F.C. (5th in Premier League)
Goals: 0
Assists: 0
Result: Lose

Has he justified his wages? No

Minimum of a hat trick would be required today to pay off 600k

Why don’t you concentrate on VVD’s price tag and wages and if he’s justifying them?

Scored 1 against Everton which has been made too look less impressive now arsenal scored 5 and even Rambo grabbed a hat trick

Yes, Sanchez should be on 1M a week.

The real question is has VVD justified his price? The answer is no

The real question is specified in the OP.
  • Agreed @Tamerlane. @Shane, please stay on topic. Or if you have to bring up other players than please do it within the context of the thread subject; Sanchez.

VvD earners £180k a week. 65% less than Sanchez. Yet despite this he is outperforming Sanchez by nearly 15%

Oh now Squawka’s a credible source, is it? I guess things have changed since the summer when everyone wanted Pogba downgraded.

Stats mean nothing though a player can have a higher total score but still have played poorly such as VVD. Lost against Swansea poor defending then poor against spurs stupidly letting the ball bounce in the box then giving away a penalty.
