4231 Help - Wide CAMs

I’ve seen a lot of people mention they struggle to get the wide CAMs involved in 4231, so hopefully some answers here might help more than just me.

Why does my wide CAM make a run on a straight line, and why does the game force me to pass directly to the RB? This happens multiple times a game.

I sent the Wide CAM on a run, and as you can see from the clear direction arrow of my pass, I want him to go wide. Why does he refuse?

Is there a way to remedy this type of issue? My wide CAMs would be so much more involved if I could send them on wide runs and cross in from there.

That is simply not how it works in the game, the way you point does not dictate where the player runs. You say "run" and the player decides where to run, that's about the extent of effort EA put into this. And then the auto-assist "helps" you by basically ignoring your command ...

All you can do is wait a bit longer between ordering the run and playing the pass, that way you can at least judge wether you should play that pass or look for another receiver.

Try playing a game on full manual on low difficulty, then your CAM still runs to the center and your pass ends up out of play.

So if I’m understanding correctly, you’re saying the game is broken and there’s no hope of fixing this? Lol excellent.

They are on default instructions.

Got Suarez and Messi btw... Messi is pretty good, but Suarez is unreal. Used him in 6 games so far, and he has 11 goals and 5 assists.
