Auto Switching

Anyone else concede occasionally (or somewhat frequently) due to auto switching despite having it set to “manual?”

Probably one of the more infuriating parts of the game for me. How can you specifically call something out in your game’s settings and still not have it work properly?

Is it better to just play with auto switch so you’re never surprised, or is concensus that manual is better?

I put my auto switch on "air balls" so that it only does it on lobbed through balls typically. Otherwise it's all manual which works great for me.

yes, one of the few things I notice EVERY game...made sure it was set to manual, and still come across times where i’m tracking back with an outside back, only to have it switch to a random central player for absolutely no reason

Mines in air balls and it still phantom switches for no reason sometimes, through ball along the floor and it switches me just in time that I'm not ready to start sprinting and the oppo is away

I find air balls switches for any slight bobble and even throw ins occasionally

Yea it's so often it's annoying, just worry full manual will have the same issues and I'll be a little slower on crosses when I have to switch.

I find the bigger issue being when I cannot switch to a central player. Often I'll attempt to switch player a dozen times and the game actively refuses to allow me to take control of the player closest to the ball.

This is probably the most frustrating thing for me. Typically I’m fine using R-stick, but the are times the game will pick every other player but the one I want and I start mashing LB and praying.

Yes, this is equally annoying! LB doesn’t switch to the closest player for some stupid reason, and I try flipping the stick multiple times to no avail. Awful.
