It’s a gamble in the sense of not knowing what players are in the packs but come on I remember we used to get footy stickers as a kid - can we go back and sue Panini because they were getting us to gamble?
Sick of reading pathetic posts about everything that’s wrong with the game
Simple fix - don’t like packs or the idea of them? Don’t * buy them
    These millennials man

Those were the worst. When I was 13 years old I remember stealing money from my parents, stealing cards from my school coleagues, trading missing cards for the cost of 4-5 packs just to complete that Panini 98 World Cup album. That R9 card even then was really expensive and I paid real money for it, trading with other kids next to a newspaper stand.
For sure was a gamble and addicting as well.

Imagine a cigarette company targeting kids to try and get them addicted. Its time to stop it now because every game has started doing it...the only sound in FIFA you can't turn off is the opening pack, EA know what they are doing its a calculated process

That is the #1 thing that tipped me off that they mean business. Slot machine graphics and the sound to go with the visual.

True. We had this discussion multiple times already. You really expect me to respond to some guys saying 'that is what an addict would say'?

They give you a description of what you are paying for and you know what you will get.

Is it addicting for some people? Sure. Is the pack weight way too low? Sure.

But all of that has nothing to do with whether it is gambling or not.

So I bookies can say put a pound on and we will give you 10p back no matter what happens. Then it isn't considered gambling ? Comon man..

It's gambling in the form of loading £20 up for the chance/hope of pulling a decent player. You don't pull anything decent then think maybe another £20 will cover it. Rinse and repeat throughout the year.

    Technically though, it's not gambling.

its not gambling if you get get what you pay got

if you go the bookies and put a 10 quid accumulator on and can walk away with nothing thats a gamble

when you pay for packs you get what pay for...

You are gambling on a decent return for the money you put on.

Little Jimmy sticks £60 on and hopes to pack some good players. He ends up with 10 dupe Winston Reids. His risk hasn't paid off.

    From the definition of gambling:
risky action in the hope of a desired result.

Your gambling on getting a high rated player, look at the picture of the pack you open it isn't of Fabien delph its a top player... If they tell you what rating of players are in the pack it isn't a gamble but as it is now it is .
