only England we won the last game quite comfortably and yet theyve managed to get all of us here absolutely bricking it that was are about to get smashed
Beginning to wonder how these selectors still have a job
They should fire them all and employ us
First it took them years to stop shoe Horning white ball players into the batting top order
And once they picked the order we were suggesting for ages we are miles better
Then they drop Stuart broad, the second highest wicket taker in the history of test cricket for England
A guy who has 55 wickets at 21 in the last 12 months
Might email a CV to the ECB that just says I'm not completely clueless on it, surely that would get me the job as head of selectors
Then once you're in as head selector you can bring the rest of us in and we'll quickly sort the team out between us all . We have a proven track record as you say
Gonna defend the selectors a bit, remember after the last couple of away Ashes defeats the majority wanted us to plan for future tours in advance, rather than having our usual 80 ish mph bowlers rock up with an okay but not top quality finger spinner and lose 4 or 5-0 (although Anderson is exempt from this as he is fine in Aus imo)
I would have Anderson and Broad in all the time but can see the logic in the selectors trying out different players a bit, even more so with 3 test matches back to back and with Anderson's injury record recently
Think the bigger complaint with the selectors is the batting choices they made. Bairstow and Buttler have disappointed so may times and Bairstow is only just out. Jason Roy opening an ashes series with him not opening in county cricket was doomed to fail.
Based on that team selection again, Stokes not fit enough to bowl?
you would have to think so feel bad for Crawley
Agreed. I guess Root just needs to emphasize to him that he hasn't been dropped as such, it's purely tactical. Not much of a consolation as he's still not playing but maybe makes him feel a bit less bad about the situation

I dont think it does Root any favours himself, hes out of nick and now moving back up to where he doesnt want to bat.

Brilliant punditry
Crazy how he went from the best number 8 in test cricket to a number 11
Shows the psychological effect getting whacked on the head can have
