Pre-contract bug - still there?

I don't want to waste my time simulating the whole season to check if it's still the case - is it? If I switch off the first transfer window and agree pre-contract terms with a player in January, does he come in July or it's still wrong and the player joins next January?

I can't answer for first season but on my save its wasn't working however since the 2nd season pre contract arrivals have been working so I don't know if it's because they have fixed it or if it's just a 1st season thing as I have not started a new career since just the same one

Yeah it was the case before - everything is fine since the second season starts. But if you sign someone on pre-contract during January 2018 window, they will come to the club in January 2019, which sucks. Thanks for the reply, though

Same as usual, not a thing has changed. This a joke, the fact you can’t even sign the player in January when they have 6 months left on their contract is absurd. @EA_Andy can you pass this on please? Would be nice to have a career mode that’s worthwhile.

I've just discovered this bug for the first time. Unbelievable. All I play is Career Mode and usually it's with lesser teams so free transfers are vital. If I knew of this bug I would not have bought the game, simple as. I know EA's priority is UT (and the money that comes with it) but this is so, so basic.

FIFA's lead over PES is diminishing and it's probably just lost another gamer...

Bug is gone - was (finally) fixed with the Nov 23 update.
