Can we self exclude from buying packs?

I had a gambling problem in the past with poker and whilst i won in the end the first few years were hell. I'm starting to get carried away with packs lately not massively but for fake non real items it's ridiculous.

Is there a way to self exclude or put monthly limits on points? If not why??

Don’t think you understand addiction mate. Imagine your statement to alcoholics? Sometimes people are more predisposed to addiction.

He's right tbh. You should be able to set a limit.

    remove your credit card?

I mean, if you're a gambling addict then how the hell can you expect to set a limit?

    you need to completely stop.

thats like a drug addict saying "well i only smoke crack once a week"

Take your card/PayPal and any other payment method off your account.

So if you buy packs, its with coins, not real money. Not a solution to your problem but its better than blowing stupid amounts on packs.

All you can really do is unattach any payment method from your account.

I'm no longer a gambling addict lol I learnt the hard way to control that but I still get the urges, I see a problem when FIFA is stiriing those same emotions. They should deffo have self limits in place

it s actually a good point.
they should put a sort of limit which you can change for keeping control of it. Like credit card alerts telling you that you reached your limit!
it s so easy to just spend money with the paypal/card connected..

China and korea is actually bringing this into law for gaming loot boxes etc as well as drop rates being publicised.

Its a far larger problem than most would admit so they are leading the way in trying to combat it.

The west could learn a hell of a lot from the east in protecting people online, gsmbling, time spent, age etc

i did that to be honest, i was spending bucks like 10-12k US$ a year to this year 1k ( i set a total limit of 1.5k this year) , its a gradual process so you gotta do it slowly but steadily and off course you need to set a limit according to your financials

Think you can add controls to payments on PlayStation. I.e monthly limits.

If not, get your wife/friend/neighbour to set your PSN Payment password

This I agree with. I was a hard drug addict for a long time. I can't risk even a little dabble anymore.

Best way is to not buy any!
  • I think this is something that does need to be highlighted.

Fair play to the OP, it's not easy to admit to an addiction and isn't helped by insensitive morons. I think there should be a way to limit what you spend. If you can't do it through FIFA, maybe see if you can through Microsoft/Sony? This may only prevent points but if you buy packs with coins you'll quickly run out with no easy way to replenish

This is beyond ignorant. Very ‘slick’.

I’m not sure if it is by law, but the majority of betting websites allow you to set deposit limits. I think it would be a responsible addition to FIFA. They have the info on how much is spent and for many, it is a s.hit ton.
