How is my opponent muscling the ball away?

In fifa 17 i could easily win dkt and make decent wl results, but on 18 i an having trouble getting the ball from the opponent when they are getting a thru ball and running at goal.... totally mashing B furiously... this would work on 17 but not on 18... but when its me the ball just gets bullied away easily... are they pressing something i dont know about??? Inb4 git gud, thats why im asking so i can improve my game, so please only constructive comments... im also finding my opponents are doing something and in a split second they are in front of me and have taken posession from me... its like they are taking this giant step over me and bullying my player... what are they doing and how do i do it.... its not a long press of the B button either...

The reason is because your opponent timed the tackling timing very well by charging up the tackle and give your player a strongest one. When you press standing tackle button, take a look at your players stamina bar, there is a tackle power bar as well. When it reaches the max, you can tackle the ball or muscle out your opponents easily.

Lagging does not affect everyone the same, as some people have the upload speed to host a match. I got 20 meg upload i can host a stable match online and there be little issue. EA is allowing some people to host a match with 0.400kb upload, and asked what connection the guy had one day, as it was stuttering mess.
No. Say if due to poor connection, you have about 1 sec lag, your opponent will also experience 1 sec lag as well, as it is direct connection between you and your opponent. This will not be the case if it is WL when both players are connected to EA server instead of each other. In this case you are right, the upload speed makes a huge difference, and that's why so many people ❤️❤️❤️❤️ EA for poor server connection thruout the year.
I don't think the OP keeps on playing WL qualifying tournament but not other online mode.
If EA knows this why they have no dedicated servers for all gameplay modes? They can't make the excuse FIFA is a niche game, it's biggest game in the world, crazy they allow bad connections to host games online.
Anyway back to the topic, if it is lagging, both sides should have similar problem or observation, but as OP said it is just one-sided, so it is not lagging.
I live in the UK region and it 's a good connection for me when i play FUT champions, pure smooth.
Yes i try but my my team is only rated 80 to 81. Everyone got a overrated team on there, but this would not be an issue if defending was more compact. The defenders have difficulty holding off fast attackers.
Today's WL requirement is max 78 rated team only. But then as I said poor defenders would likely to have poor positioning when playing against higher rated attackers, so using lower rated team always end up tennis scores. You can cover this up a bit by setting closer width in custom tactic setting. At least you can limit your opponent to run only on flanks.
Btw it has been the case since 17, where your defenders will betray you once they face attackers with much higher rating.
