For the first season of this Career Mode story I will be doing a combination of a player sponsoring game as well as a card collection. There are 52 player cards to collect, 20 from each of the Premier League teams and 32 from each of the UEFA Champions League teams, there will be no duplicates or trading.

You will get cards every month based on how well your sponsored player scores in points that month, I'm thinking every 4 points = 1 card. I've balanced it out so whatever position you pick from GK, DEF to CDM to ST, players should be on an even playing-ground. If there is a long term injury (4 weeks+) I will allow you to pick another player to take his place while the player is injured so you can still get points and cards.

So all you have to do is pick a player to sponsor that has not been chosen and see if you can become the first to collect all 52 across the season.

    Points will be award for:
    - For playing up to 60 minutes (1 point)
    - For playing 60 minutes or more (2 points)
    - For each goal scored by a goalkeeper or defender or defensive midfielder (7 points)
    - For each goal scored by a midfielder (5 points)
    - For each goal scored by a forward (4 points)
    - For each goal assist (3 points)
    - For a clean sheet by a goalkeeper or defender (5 points)
    - For a clean sheet by a defensive midfielder (3 points)
    - For a clean sheet by a midfielder (1 point)
    - For every 5 shot saves by a goalkeeper (1 point)
    - For each penalty save (5 points)
    - For each penalty miss (-2 points)
    - Bonus points for the best rated players for Man Utd in a match (1-3 points)
    - For every 2 goals conceded by a goalkeeper or defender (-1 points)
    - For each yellow card (-1 point)
    - For each red card (-3 points)
    - For each own goal (-2 points)

*Clean sheets are awarded for 60+ minutes without conceding in the game

Good luck. Can I sponsor Matic please?
Matic is yours, what a signing he has been for Utd so far, should get some decent points since I've added in 4 for clean sheets, 7 for goals for a defensive mid, see what he can produce!

8 players picked so far, amazing turn out!

Manchester United have brought their first player in this summer and after rumours he was on his way last January it appears he finally gets the move, Victor Lindelöf exits Benfica for Man Utd in a £31.5m deal, Mourinho wanted to improve on the defence for some time and a Lindelöf and Bailly partnership could be something to watch out for this season. The Swede signs a 5-year deal and will take the number 2 shirt. Mourinho is expected to target a striker and central midfielder in the coming weeks.

After flirting with the club for most of the summer so far it seems Atletico will keep their star man Griezmann for another season with the player ruling out a move to Manchester United after the recent transfer ban, Atletico will not be able to replace him and he has come out and said it would not be right to leave the club in a position like that if he left, the door is still open next summer however.

After picking up a long term injury it appears Manchester United have chosen not to renew Zlatan Ibrahimovic's contract a further year, the Swedish striker was on around 300k/week and with him rumoured to be out of action until late this year Mourinho has pulled the plug on him as he targets a big name striker this summer. What's next in store for him, maybe a move back to the Italian league or a new challenge in Germany?

    • Arsenal finally get the Lacazette deal over the line, a total cost of £46.5m with additional add-ons that could take it to £52m, Arsenal fans will look forward to a front 3 of Sanchez, Lacazette and Ozil this season that's for sure.
    • Manchester City spend big on a full-back a position that was in desperate need this season and it's Kyle Walker that joins them for a total of £45m with a potential £5m in add-ons, massive signing!
    • After an incredible season at Monaco, Bernardo Silva becomes Man City's 2nd big signing after completing a £43m move to the Etihad. Pep means business this year.
    • Liverpool are quick to purchase a pacey attacker in the name of Salah from Roma, a £36.9m deal has been agreed with the Egyptian winger flying in for a medical tomorrow to seal the deal.
    • Juventus are known for buying at the right price and they spend big on Fiorentina winger Federico Bernardeschi, a fee rumoured to be around £35m was enough to sell him to their league rivals.

The big transfer news we have all been waiting for, Romelu Lukaku puts on the red shirt after signing a 5-year deal with the club, a total fee of £90m has been agreed with £15m of that being on player performance add-ons. All summer Chelsea were linked with Lukaku while Man Utd looked to be after Morata however it appears all along we had it wrong, close friend Pogba convinced the Belgian Old Trafford should be his new home and it appears to have worked with Conte lashing out at the board for not getting the deal over the line quicker they will target Morata now. Lukaku is expected to wear the number 9 shirt and feature in pre-season later on in the summer.

Cristiano Ronaldo sparks massive rumours this week that he would consider a return to the Premier League and even called it 'home'. The world player of the year is currently going through a court battle over several million in unpaid taxes and is getting increasingly frustrated with the situation saying "It's getting out of hand, I'm innocent, they don't know what they are doing, I wouldn't get this treatment in England". Jose Mourinho believes a possible deal would be almost impossible to complete but will the club tempt Madrid we will see...

It didn't quite work out for him at Manchester United after showing promise in the early stages, and now Belgian midfielder Adnan Januzaj completes his permanent move away from Old Trafford to Spanish club Real Sociedad, the fee is said to be just less than £10m and it was the best for both parties involved. Manchester wish him the best of luck in the future.

    • The transfer world record has been broken and it's over double the amount of Gareth Bale's. Neymar exits Barcelona in controversy as PSG pay out his £195m buy-out clause with the Brazilian expected to be the highest earner in European football.
    • Manchester City complete their full-back signings with Monaco's highly rated left-back Mendy making his £52m move to the Eithad earlier this week, Guardiola is not messing about getting the deals done early.
    • Bayern Munich meet Lyon's demands of £35m for French central midfielder Corentin Tolisso as he looks to make a big name for himself in the Bundesliga this season but can he force himself into the team of superstars?
    • AC Milan are one of the teams to completely rip apart their team just a few months ago and bring in 10 new players, well the latest to join that list is Portuguese superstar Andre Silva for £33.6m, under new ownership Milan look to be heading back to the days when they were challenging in Europe and domestically.
    • A strange transfer that see's Douglas Costa exit Bayern Munich for Italian champions Juventus, with a small loan fee for the season with a £35m option to buy, it didn't quite work for the Brazilian in Germany but will it be a different story in Italy?
