As much as I've loved watching Rooney play for Utd, and appreciative of everything he's done and achieved, I also think there's more deserving

Some people say he's overrated which is fair enough, however he's their top scorer of all time, so of course he deserves something that highlights this either outside or inside the stadium.

I don't think he is overrated. At least not at club level. He has consistently scored goals throughout his club career. He got into double figures every season in the Prem all the way until 15/16 which is some achievement. He's behind only Alan Shearer in Premier League top scorers but you don't hear people saying Andy Cole, Lampard, Henry, Fowler etc. are overrated.

I think his international performances are what drags him down a bit as he hasn't really produced the goods at a major tournament since 2004.
