I think it would be so stupid if the event is in October and they still release it on the game in January.

It's a different award now though. The whole thing has changed

I hope they ditch it and do a special award of their own. We might get some variation that way.

With a bench of players rather than just 11.

I agree but on the other hand it would probably kill the game real quick if they had TOTY's in packs only a few weeks after the game releases. Reckon it would be a bad move on EA's part.

    Bench would be optimal.

I have no data to back it up but I'd imagine they don't want that.

There's huge peaks with Fifa points. You can tell that on here.

Launch, BF, Christmas, TOTY and TOTS are the huge ones. I don't doubt that many people get points for Christmas and spend them before TOTY.

Seems like a long time even if they tried to pass the time with sbc or something else.

Having TOTY 2-3 weeks after the games released would be silly imo. They won't do it.

How could there be TOTY for 2017 with at least two months of 2017 left to play?

Waiting until December doesn't make sense either.

Unless they just decide to make their own version.

Timewise it doesn't obviously. Moneywise it absolutely does. Releasing blues in October would kill a huge amount of profit. We're either gonna see the TOTY released later, or they'll make their own version at the usual date of the past few years as you said. There's just not gonna be any blues in October.

As long as they don't let people vote for their own TOTY, I am fine with December.
